Do Not Test Drive A 2011 WRX STI
.........cause then you will want to buy one..........like I did!
They are sooooooooo cool and I likt how they brought the sedan with the high rise back.
Put weird ideas in my head to trade my lil Cobalt SS Turbo in................
YUCK..........
Thank god I had my fun and then got the hell out of there before I gave my cobalt ss away for next to nothing(financially).
Just beware if you do.............
Run fast after you hand the keys back

yes i know the feeling about the STis
my buddy has one and i went for a ride in it. damn near **** myself when he launched it.
with his 18 psi AWD and launch control this thing took off no other.
im just glad that i have the thought of "i will never own a Subaru" stuck in my head or id have one as well lol

I think the STi's are overpriced. Would've gone for the standard WRX, just as quick (quicker in some mags actually), and nearly as fast on a track. Basically for 10K you are getting brakes, wheels, tires, and admittedly better resale value. Not worth it IMO. Standard WRX is classed much better for sutocross as well if you care about those things.
i LOVE the cars lol, but EVERY one and their mother has one by me and i like to stand out, thats why i drive an orange car lol
but as for the 18 psi, he did some stuff to it, what all he did i couldnt tell u.
we raced from about 60, i was in 2nd he was in 3rd, he walked me.........
Subaru is great for reliability .They are overpriced from the factory. Overpriced on parts an labor if you don't do your own work. The reliable being said that's until you up the power levels . They start breaking all sorts of drivetrain parts at that point. Don't get me wrong modding your car can cause failures. It just seems to happen alot to subarus. Most AWD cars have this Issue due to launching . But I used to work at a suby dealer and saw the failures alot. For the 40k you pay for loaded sti you could have much better.
I doubt the STi actually makes 40 more horsepower than the standard WRX. They run essentially identical 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I suspect the WRX is underrated powerwise. Cars trap at like 106 bone stock.
Yeah, that's what they are rated at. Just saying I think the standard WRXs are underrated, like the SRT4s, rated at 215 in '03 and put down 220+ at the wheels stock.

Sorry , I hear what you are saying ... justify the extra cost. How much of a difference is there in 1/4 mile times?
I'm coming from a 02 wrx before my SS.. it was definetly a super fun car, it KILLED backroads and I had a **** load of fun in the winter. Other than that, power wise, ss is boss lol.
