Does anybody know this SS/TC FS in IL....?
Does anybody know this SS/TC FS in IL....?
I'm looking to get a new dd in the next few weeks and found this on cars.com, was planning to go look at it this week but am a little uneasy about the 30r. I'm hoping someone on here will recognize the car and know more about the history of the mods.
2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, $19,899 - Cars.com
All and all I'm looking at 8th gen Civic Si's sedans, '05-'07 STi's (if I can find an unmolested one with lower miles) or a SS/TC. I'm prolly gonna get the Si as it's the most practical and reliable. I've been on forums for all of these cars for a wile and know the majority of the common issues. The insurance is most on the SS, but not so high I wouldn't get one, the STi would be great for Chicago winters but is the most costly to buy (for same miles) and worst on gas :/
Whatever I get, over a year or two it will get a full exhaust, intake, mild tune with boost turned up if STi or SS, and a few small suspension mods (sub-frame connectors, STB's, winter wheels/tires) I plan to get 5+ years out of wheat ever it is.
Any help finding more info on this car's history is appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric M

To be honest, I wouldn't even bother with it. If they went down to $15k MAYBE then but still, its risky b/c thats a lot of work and you know good and well the person who owned most likely had a heavy foot. Who does those kinds of upgrades and doesn't have a heavy foot ya know?
I wish I coulda got a black, '06/'07 STi... So sexy...

wow quick replies, yeah I'm not one for other people problems. But it was worth asking about. It could have been somebody on here who built it up right rather than make their payments and it got repo'd, idk, or they traded in in on something better. That's why I asked, I know the price is high, there is another one in the same town a few miles away with just cosmetic mods, lower price and lower miles.....
