ZZP airbox mod or an intake help that.
Do you have any data showing performance enhancement adding just those mods to a tuned car? Most tuned cars already Dyno with these mods, so that data might be hard to find. Maybe at some point I may add those and dyno. I'm probably the only one here that has dynoed with a tune and NO MODS AT ALL!

Naw, the numbers were from a log I pulled back before we settled on the 60-100 ricer runs. Nothing paticular about how it started & ended.

Term might have some, I don't. Check the intake thread sticky. I just remember what was posted over the last two years about it.

After all, it's just a Cobalt.

When my brother drove it, I told him he better steer with two hands.

Terminator2 worked with me a lot over the first 6 mos of tuning this thing. He's the best.
Do you tell 'em that's a standard (flywheel) 260HP as rated by GM?

In my opinion, your car has at least a 100 HP MORE than that (to the fly that is).

Nope, I know what others dyno at and I'm slower, I'd guess 330/380 at the wheels. I was gonna dyno at the CED meet if I went but they didn't get a dyno and I have to work anyway.
I can't get the tires to slip in 3rd on a throttle roll in unless it's cold out. It's a slug, ronn.

Edit: I just saw you said to the FW, yeah, maybe so.

Make sure the tabs on the spring hat are pointing in towards the engine bay. There should be some paint on the hat and the mount from the factory, so hopefully they don't mess it up when they put it back together.

ronn, I reviewed a few of my old bookmarked logs & I was mistaken on my best 60-100, I did make the 4 sec club once in early March @ 4.86 sec.

Log showed intake air temp of 55*f. Just about a perfect day I guess.

Not enough lsj's around for me to practice on. Sorry.

First off, your numbers are inflated a bit. Don't take offense, just stating facts.

Second, my SS/TC sedan does 60-100 in 6.0x seconds, multiple verifications, with the stock GMPP timing tables with my tuning over the GMPP tune. I guarantee I'm no where near 300whp and 360lb/ft of torque.

*Disclaimer*
No dick swinging here. Just helping you put things into perspective.

I have the dyno sheet..do you have one to support your claim on your *HP GUARANTEE* for your car? If not, I would suggest that you keep the *dick swinging* comment to yourself. BTW, I qualified my dyno results stating that they *could be reading * 7-10% higher than a dynojet, per the tuners info.

Haha... You completely mis-understood what I meant by my disclaimer... I was stating that I wasn't trying to pound on my chest/swing my dick/etc...

Regarding your dyno numbers, cool man. Glad to see you have a baseline. You stated your 6.3 sec 60-100 time and I provided mine. I know for a fact that I do not have 300whp and 360wtq. So for you to think that your 6.3 60-100 quantifies your 300whp, is wrong in my opinion. Let the mods begin buddy!

Also, I do not have a reason to dyno my car. It's bone stock aside from my tuning (lots of thanks to Iam broke, BYT and many others)on top of the GMS1 3 bar maps/canned tune. 6.0x seconds 60-100 for me is my measure of performance and it's slow

First, you can't make any claims about your horsepower untill you dyno the car period end of story. Second, If you don't think 60-100 MPH in 6 sec isn't very quick, I'd like to no what planet you reside on. Think about this, this will do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds VERIFIED. Now ADD the additional 6 seconds to 100 and you get 11.6 sec!!! Your car, given the proper driver, will do 11.6 sec to 100. OK..do you have a clue what it would do in the Qtr mi with that type of performance ?
Go ahead..make a guess Let's just say, you would *only* need another second at most and it would be going over 107MPH.
Thought for the day>>>Cars that weigh 3300 (with driver)lbs and have a trap speed of 107MPH with 12.6 sec ET>>>>321HP (flywheel). Yes bench racing at it's best..but my #s are not that far out.

Here's another interesting link that shows a car with similar performance:
Note:
300whp/364wtq - daily tune. Only ran once with the tune (less aggressive one to minimalize wheel spin) and pulled a 12.9 @ 111

If you put those results into my calculator link in previous post, you get 328 FLYWHEEL HP for these results (assuming 3300 Lbs with driver). That's in line with his posted 300WHP.

http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/sh...66&postcount=1

Any car capable of 60-100 in 6 sec (11.6sec 0-100mph) is definitely capable of turning #s in the range of 107MPH+ in the Qtr

ronn, you need to calm down a little. You're data-racing. Your car is just like 90% of the Cobalts on this site. We're happy that you're excited about your car, but you're starting to sound like a 17 yr old.

Yeah, looking at some of the various LNF tune files i have(Bryan"06black", Shaun Mcdee, and even Psychostevo) they all only tune the DAL 50%+ 40% and under is all left to stock settings

You got it. Take a look at *My images* link. There's a pick of me in my 944T going down the *cork Screw* at Laguna Seca. BTW that was a LONG time ago

Ronn - properly tuned with TC off it should smoke 'em 4k to redline in second if you just floor it at 3500 rpm. You have more HP on the table if you want it. You should be able to make the clutch slip if you want to in third when you nail it at 55-60.

Just my two years experience with the TC talking.

Not the max airload tables, prob the desired tables need some work. I told you earlier how I'd set them up. Max airload can & should be 100% 2700 rpm & up.
I was wondering what you guys were talking about with this PILL deal. Now I get it. When I had my 944T we used a vary small fitting with a small hole in it to dam up/retard the boost feed line to the ECU...ECU *sees* less boost...so you're *allowed* more. Gotta be REAL careful here though, as you're aware. I got greedy there and started blowing hoses..boots and fittings. If you stress those you're gonna get BOOST LEAKS! READ>>no free lunch baby. I guess most of you guys have duly compensated for the added boost. BTW, that's a neat place for that..easy to put in take out.
