Ebay Headlight Advice

I'm lookin at getting these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...mZ310094603021.

I was hoping that someone that has these can tell me if they got the hids to fit in ok cause i heard sometimes the hid bulb dont wanna fit in some projectors right....

Also the auction says like 05 06 07 or sumthing, these will fit the 08 too correct? I didnt think the headlights changed.

could anyone post some pics of their headlights at night? I'd like to see how they look at night; especially the light pattern on the ground, or on a garage or something. I'd also like to see how they actually look on the car (day and night). Someone has to have some pics I'd imagine...

I have the same headlights you are looking at. And while they look amazing, I would not recommend them at all.

What the pics don't show you, is that the adjusting screws for the projectors are on the bottom of the housing, which makes them impossible to adjust when installed. This means everytime you need to adjust, you need to remove the projectors, and then adjust the screws (with a 7/16" socket wrench, since it's not literally screw).

I never managed to get my HID's perfectly aligned, but they are good enough that I don't blind the living **** out of drivers and still manage to see the road.

These are the 1st gens. They are garbage. You have to splice into the OE wiring to get the led's and halo's to work. I was one of the first in Utah to get them. I'm glad I no longer have them. I had problems with them since day one and you cannot adjust them while they are installed in the car either.

I bought these a few months ago (thanks bowtietillidie for the pic):

I love them. Direct plug and play, and you can adjust the up/down aiming while they are still installed in your car with just a phillips screwdriver. I absolutely love them. A little warning though. When you first turn them on they will not be as bright. Give them a few minutes and they will seem to "pop on." They just need to warm up a little. I haven't heard anybody say anything bad about them yet. They are ccfl's. Apparently ccfl is really catching on too. Cadillac is using a ccfl light tube in the new CTS (or is it the STS).

thanks alot for the input. i was really hoping to get the ccfl and i like that those can be adjusted in the car. im still not sure about the bar tho. u wouldnt happen to have some pics of them in your car both during the day and maybe at dusk? are the halos and leds on these a simple 2 wire that your supposed to splice into your parking lights like many of the others caz im just gonna run them to a switch on the inside of the car instead?

I don't have any useful pics. The only pics I have are of a malfunctioning headlight when I first received these lights so that the company on Ebay I bought them from would replace it. Sorry. I can post that if you'd like. I can tell you that you can see them on during the daytime, but barely. However, they are much better than the 1st gens that you couldn't see at all. You don't need to splicve into anything for these. The plug directly into the OE wiring harness. If you want to turn on the ccfl's without the headlights you only turn on your parking lights. Unfortunately, you cannot turn on the headlights without the cclf's being lit up. Doesn't really matter. The ccfl's are whiter than the H7 bulbs that come with them, so they are still noticable. I hope this helps.

I went ahead and attached the pics I had I of the malfunctioning halo. Hopefully this gives you an idea of what you would be getting. The headlight has since been replaced by the Ebay seller and I have not had any problems since. These, obviously, are night time pics. I had to put the camera into night mode to get these pics because the lights are so bright that the camera only showed a white blur. I have a friend in Vegas that took pics of my car with the ccfl's on nest to a car with the first gens. The difference is very noticable. I'll see if I can get those from her.

BTW, these headlights use the OEM headlight lens. You can see the GM part number on the bottom corner closest to the grill on each headlight.
