not quite sure if im following this....you want to replace a piece in the engine bay somewhere? i thought u were looking at the linkage in the car where it connects to the shifter. ive been running a b&m for a few thousand miles now with no problems but i do think that the linkage i saw when i installed it was crappy. its poped up outta place once on me.

No, I am talking about the part you are thinking about.

Sorry for not updating guys... today is the first day of classes, and i have been trying to get everything sert up for going to class, so I am very busy. the car is at the dealer for a day or two, but after that I will see what time I have to spare and pull the part out and see what I can do with the machine shop. Bear with me!!!!

This is the part that broke on mine. For some people it just pops off, but that actual plastic piece cracked in my case. I had it zip tied up because we tried supergluging it to get it to stay which didnt work.

Is this the part you guys are talking about, under the shifter?

the part i squared in green is the part i had problems with. it kept popping upward out of the mount. but i wouldnt mind picking up the your talking about either depending on what you come up with. seems to me if you adjust the cables right that piece shouldnt break?? either way im excited to see what you come up with and may pick this up even though mine havent broke (knock on wood).

UGH! Life has been so busy lately, I apologize for not getting this done! The car has been in the shop for the past 2.5 weeks getting its wheels done (ya know, a job that shoulda taken 4 days MAX), so I haven't been able to pull it apart yet.

This is likely getting pushed into a winter project. My second car just broke down, so the Balt is getting promoted to DD status til I can get that fixed, and I am sure it will drain more money than i want it to, not leaving much for spare projects.

Lol. Uhm, no. I went to the dealer today and talked to the service manager. I feel relieved he is about just as pissed as me. I bet he would be if he was making the payment, paying insurance, and such. BUT, the deal is the powdercoater he uses isn't returning phone calls. This really sucks as my Sentra broke yesterday, so I am borrowing my dad's Jeep. I don't wanna put miles on it, plus I don't wanna fill it up getting 15 mpg. So, I told the service manager that if I don't have it back by tomorrow, i will need a loaner car (hoping for the used Solstice they have on the lot, lol) and that if the guy hasn't started them yet, that I just want the car back and we will explore other avenues later (I am thinking OZ ultraleggera?).

Don't go through your dealer to get them powdecoated, call a different shop and make an actual appointment. That sucks though!

Well, the dealer I am going through was the ones that put my tires on and scratched them all to hell. Its actually not a Chevy dealer. A buddy of mine is their detail shop manager, and his dad is the service manager, so I figured I would go there cuz I thought my stuff would get taken care of. I was pretty wrong. The tech that put it on got a good tongue lashing after I showed the service manager what happened, and the SM has been nothing but great to me, so I can't REALLY complain. Its not his fault this guy isn't returning phone calls. I mean, IDK what the SM can do about it. I would be knocking on someones door though really. He did offer to buy me new wheels, which is the offer I should have taken, but I was not trying to be greedy, I just wanted them fixed, and this was a good way to get them powdercoated. CLEARLY, new wheels would have been the way to go. If these aren't started yet, I am going to say buy me new wheels. Depending on price, I might be able to get him to buy me OZ's, lol.

Well they've had your car or wheels for 2 weeks, and they're not answering any calls, it should get nasty.

Ha. No car yet. Apparently the wheels are done, and the shop is waiting for the tires to get mounted, and then it will be good to go. I am so excited to have it back!

But, like I said... the shift linkage is now getting pushed to a winter project. I don't have a whole lot of time to mess with the car with school and all that, so it is gonna have to wait a bit.
