Forge bypass valve

Is it worth replacing the stock bypass valve with the forge bypass valve? What would be the gains of getting the forge one?

yes its worth it. Stock one is a rubber like unit and can tear and rip. It also can get stuck and not release right. Forge is all metal and controled with two different springs. Well worth the upgrade!

I've had mine since the initial group buy thanks to gdubs and it works great. I'm curious if people are lubing these things periodically and with what. I just installed it out of the box and havent touched it since- is it recommended to lubricate these things periodically?

Ewwwwww. That came out wrong. Or did it? Hmmmm.

What the hell did you lube it with? If I get one Astroglide joke I'll go postal.

Actually an Astroglide joke would be funny.

I lied. It wouldn't.

I just did maintenence on my Forge BPV.

You lube it with Mobile 1 grease. The tube will last you forever. Clean it off and then just a small amount spread over the O-rings of the piston in the BPV is plenty. Do it maybe once or twice a year.

Enjoy installing the K&N as well! It was actually a pleasure to install it, it fit so well.

CEL is very easy to handle. If you have a smartphone you can buy bluetooth OBD-II scanner for 35 bucks on ebay and use android app torque to read and clear codes.

Or if you don't have a smartphone you can just get a regular OBD-II scanner for about the same price.

What happens if I use silicon grease, just curious? I have soooooo much of that too, if I can return the other stuff and use silicon might as well. I'm never gonna run out of either one.

I've read on their website and have been told to use the M1 synthetic grease.

silicon will probably dry up and cake due to the heat from the turbo. You dont want to do that. It will make the BPV stick and probably cause compressor surge.
