Front end issues on 2010 SS/TC

All...i am reaching out...stuck on what is going on with the front end. I got this car with only 7k on it and it now has 26k on it. At 13K i had a vibration in the steering wheel but not in the brake pedal..so having the car serviced they told me it was the rotors...well i wanted to upgrade anyhow so i got a full set of drilled and slotted with pads from Drilled rotors.com. I don't go tracking this car but i do like to go have some fun now and again...anyhow after 5K it started doing it again...so they replaced the rotors and brake pads for free..cool...but its doing it again i have a hard time believing that I'm warping these things from just daily interstate driving...I have also developed this tapping / thumping in the front end that happens when turning generally. i have also been noticing the ESC service light coming on...but its all random and of course never on when i can take it the dealership to have it checked. i also noticed today that when sitting there with the car off...i can turn the wheel a little left and right and it feels like a dead spot both ways before there is any tension to turn the wheels...thats why i searched for a few but figured i would just reach out to the guys that know these cars inside and out...any points to start with?

I wonder if your intermediate steering shaft is going bad. They fell apart at the joint if exposed to much salt and they weren't lubricated very well from the factory. They connect your steering column to the rack and pinion.

A dead spot can be your steering rack or your intermediate shaft. Its not very hard to take it out and see how the u-joints are. Is your car wandering?

Ahh yes...I just had to replace the one in my Sierra...The car doesn't wander so i don't think it is the rack. so this would be the clunking and dead spots in the steering...but what do i need to look at for the ESC going on and off randomly? Seen that the wheel bearings / speed sensors are usually the issue here..
