Gas Mileage?

I'm torn between the new cobalt SS and the MS3. The deciding factor will most likely be the MPG since both cars are about the same in the Hp and Tq categories.

post up your MPG?

Last weekend I averaged 32 mpg coming back from the twin cities, which happened because temps were in the mid 30s. In the deep cold my mpg is only about 20-22. I've got winter tires on now, so I might see maybe 1 mpg better with the stock tires.

so on the highway you get 30's and combined highway/city you get about 20's?

In the coldest part of winter I average around 26 mpg. In the hottest part of summer I average around 30 mpg.

On road trips I have never seen worse than 29 mpg.
Going to school or work I average 24-25 mpg but the drives are all very short (less than 10 miles one way).

Yea I notice 22 highway/city in the winter. And only about 20 city/highway when the temps were in the single digits and teens a few weeks ago. I've only had my car since November, so I'm sure those numbers will be higher when the weather is warmer.

work is 33 miles each way and I get between 26-28 mpg. Last two weeks combined the reading says 27.2 mpg. A guy at work has an 08 MS3 and said he has been getting about 26-27 mpg and he drives about 40 each way.

I average around 25mpg in the winter and about 28mpg in the other 3 seasons. That's about 70% highway and me getting on it just about at least once a day.

Well before the stage kit, driving conservatively I could easily get in the 30's. If you're on it all the time, expect to see around 25. After the stage kit, I have gone from 28-32 to 26ish because I can't stay out of it. I usually see around 320 mi/tank, my record is 362 miles on a about 12 gallons...which is tiny at 13.25 gallons I believe.

If you manage to stay out of it, I've found my milage has improved since installing the stage kit. If I drive sane on the highway (60mph) I see 32/3430ish; around 75mph I'm closer to 30mpg give or take.

Hmmm...the numbers looks more impressive to me in L/100km, it looks like I'm using slim to nothing .

On average with.... 50% Highway / 50% City

Driving Normal = 8.2L/100KM - 28.5MPG
Average = 8.6-8.7L/100KM - 27MPG
Driving Agressive "Lead Foot" = 9.1L/100KM - 25.8MPG

hmm.. I don't know how ppl can acheive these numbers ... seriously even Saturn astra with a 1.8L ecotec doesn't acheive those numbers

Right now I'm at 10.2L/100km in winter with a mix of highway and traffic

In the summer it goes down by 1L max..

I keep track of all my milage/gas purchases with an app on the iPhone.

On highway i avg 30-31 (usually 75-80mph) and in city I get 25-26. My city driving is about as unoptimal as it gets. Lots of lights in this stupid city and you don't get much above 35-40 on the way to work.

32 MPG average for me 60% highway and 40% city. I find that city mileage is very good as long as you stay out of it and shift into 4th at 35 and 5th at 45 mph.

I do about the same in my SS/TC, in cold, cold Quebec. Maybe a little more, like add 0.5L/100km in each category.

Oops, my milage is a little worse than I thought. The higher peaks are me on longer highway trips.

Don't take too much from this though, I beat the everloving **** out of this car. If theres a chance to be at WOT, I'm at WOT Also if you're wondering... I havent bought gas since 11/29 because the cars just been sitting in the garage for Winter.

Its called GasCubby, not sure the price now but it was .99 when I got it like a year ago. Also keeps track of all your maint you do (if you put it in) and reminds you when its time to clean the airfilters and such.

You can even export to a csv file to track in Excel... I love the app
