Gas over flowing!!!! HALP

So, i have twice now noticed while filling up my tank, that once the handle clicks ot turn off...i have had gas flowing out of my gas tank fill hole and a puddle behind the wheel/tire from running down my fender. Anything I shoould look for or just take it ot the dealership? still under warranty.

First time: it was raining and car had snow melting of it, didn't think much of it, but noticed it was mainly arouond my gas cap.

Second time i noticed after i pulled the nozzle out that it was leaking and was all 'wtfmate?!'

Anyone else have this? The gas nozzle shuts off but not fast enough.

I think this has more to do with the pump then the car.

Yeah it's the pump not your car. I hate when that happens.

yah i'll lock the handle but around 9 or 10 gallons in i take over. it happened to me once or twice. It may just have something to do with volume of gas in the filler neck and it may just fill up very quickly.

Were both instances at the same station?! Maybe try a different station (different pumps) and see if the same thing occurs.......then go from there

now that i think about it, it was the same pump. Will indeed try another one. It's the closest station to my house with 93, and it's BP which i've always used. There is a Texaco or some store too, hmm.

Thanks guys.

Evap system plays into when the fuel fill cuts off too. How exactly though I cannot remember. Definitely try a different pump/station. If it still does it time to look at your car.

Ive had it happen to me a few times. Took the car in for some unrelated warranty work 2 weeks ago and they had found the fuel tank pressure sensor had shorted out. Im not sure if that has anything to do with it and being that its only happened to me a few times im sure it will take quite a few fill-ups before I see if it happens again.
