GMS1 Canada - Final Cost?

just wondering how much was the total? after duty and shipping?

My dealership gave me a price of $747.50 CDN... EDIT = forgot taxes ... total $844.68

CED Stage Kit = $485.05 USD
Shipping - $34.94 USD
Duty = ???

Total = 534.624 CAD, not including duty... is duty just gst & pst?

if so then it will end up costing around $605?

$240 SAVINGS??? am I off?

CED: $485.05
Shipping $35.00
Duty: $~75.00 (i think)
Install: $231 (2.1hrs @ $93/hr shop rate)
Total: ~$900 at the end of the day

You save more than $200 even with the exchange rate, unless your dealership is including labour cost in the kit cost they gave you. I saved $300 over the cost of just the kit before taxes going through CED. Duty is 13% after conversion to CAD from USD if I remember correctly. At the very least it'll be GST, the exchange rate was about $1.05 when I purchased mine.

Ship it to a UPS store on the other side of the border and go pick it up. No taxes, no duty, no brokerage.

CED uses USPS by default, though I'm sure they wouldn't say no to UPS if you requested it. If they're willing to, that option works too.

True I understand that, but if your not running slicks and just spin I dont think you will break anything

If your running slicks and hook up to 1.7 and 1.8 60's then yes you would probably break some stuff after a little while

What dealer did your install? The dealer I went to quoted $218 for install and said it might void the warranty if i didn't buy the kit from them. They quoted $829.73 for the parts.

Murrays in Winnipeg.

And it is 100% bs about the warranty if there's no obvious damage on it or something

Bullshit on warranty. Purchased from any registered GMPP dealer and you're fine (which CED is). Tell your dealer to cut the bullshit if they want the business for the install.

I had a dealership install my spec3+ clutch, the t.o.b. I got from c.e.d. was defective (leaked after bleeding) the entire 2nd re & re was covered by warranty 0 mile part failure!. I had to produce the receipt but they covered it. Funny thing is the dealer's cost in Canada is more than what c.e.d. sells them for. They also covered my front stabilizer end links and an axle seal under warrany. I've never had any issues with my dealer, guys at the desk know I'm tuned as well!
