Good basic mods?

So I've been wanting to do some mods and don't know which parts to go with..
I was looking at Dejon intercooler pipes for one but was wonderig how good they are and what do you guys recommend?
Second, I know some guys are gonna recommend a downpipe but I'm definitely not getting one cause I want to keep my cats..
Lastly, of course the trifecta tune, I only wanna boost 21psi max cause I wanna extend the life of the turbo and my clutch lol..

What do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Oh, and also which intercooler? Been looking at the genuinesaab one..

Here is everything that will be posted.

people have strong opinions about brands and such.

A couple people have had fitment issues with the Genuine saab intercooler.

I was the original test fit car and have had 0 problems with it. There are a few that have had it and love it.

As for the downpipe, you are too attached to your cats. I think a DP is a much better mod as far as horsepower and sneakiness.

As for charge pipes, most people have liked the various brands from our vendors.

As for the trifecta tune, Vince can setup your car however you want. He will most likely give you the standard Cobalt SS/TC tune, not the infiniboost.

You can stay catted and still increase your performance. ZZPerformance & ClearImage Automotive both sell 3" catted DP's. The neck down at the O2 sensor on the stocker is pretty restrictive.

Catted I'd prob buy the CAI one since they claim to use a metal matrix cat, tolerates higher exhaust temps. I had both ZZP catted & catless DP's on mine, both fit well. Tip: if you change DP's replace the turbo end gasket. It crushes to fit and I had a slight leak after the second DP swap.

Injen hot side CP is very nice IMO, use t-bolt clamps though.

Tune is a must.

Tune first. I made pretty damn good numbers on a totally stock car over the weekend.

Then I would vote DP and CP after that.

Okay, thanks for all the great info.. I'm not really worried about the downpipe cause the car will make good power with the tune like I've seen around on the forum, looking for cooling effiency as far as mods go..

How restrictive is the cold charge pipe? Cause I'm really considering getting the Dejon hot pipe kit

Ive been under there and looked at it a few times, debating is it REALLY worth it. I honestly have to agree with the majority, doesnt seem worth the work or $!

Not worth it unless you break the stock coldpipe.

It is not really restrictive at all.

Term is right, off the top of my head I think ZZP or CIA (correct me if I'm wrong) found the stock cold-side piping to flow only slightly less than an aftermarket piece on a flow bench.

I've been VERY pleased with playing with HP Tuners and a catless DP thus far. Until the fueling and additional boost tables are unlocked I plan on leaving the car alone performance wise.
