good street tires
Pilot sports will be the best all around daily driver, especially if you live somewhere with a lot of rain.
Most of the other tires mentioned are pure summer only, and hydroplane and/or don't grip very well in rain.
If you auto x and track your tires usually won't last more than a summer though anyway. A lot of people are a fan of the conti's, I haven't tried them. I have pilot sports and they where 100 times better than kdw's regarding grip and road noise.
I'm going to try these Hankook Ventus R-S3 (Z222) (1010333)
i am in the market for tires. car is just my summer roller,i drive it to my cabin, street races and everywhere else in between. i bought the car with kumho ecstas and they werent that bad of a tire, until my CAB's wore out and my tires wore all unevenly.
but i dont really care all that much about traction,im only GMS1 and dont really plan on getting a real tune...yet. i just want a decent tire that does good in the rain and pavement when i hit some clover leafs hard.
would moving up to a 235 make the tire just a bit wider? i had the stock tire size 225/40r18's with the kumho's but i want to make the tire a tad bit wider so if i were to accidently park a little to close the the curb, the tire will make contact, not the wheel.
anyone have input twords the BFG g-force sport comp 2?

I'm still using them, idk how many Kms iv put on them. I'd have to figure out how many Kms I drive in summer and let u know. Guess I can use my oil change data to check lol I'll get back to u on that
$800 is too much for four tires that grip amazing? Right...especially since it's better than the dz1.

I'm using these on my HHR SS. Great all around tire. They came on the car when I bought it 2 years ago. I wasn't sure about them at first, but very predictable, great wear and grip, and quiet too.
I just put a set on my wife's HHR LT about 5 months ago.
General Tire G-Max AS-03 in a 225/45/18.

ok so I looked at my data, and im gonna have to estimate I got about 20-25k miles on the tires. should last 2 or 3 more summers.
I run my car year round so I stick with all season tires, I've ran the extreme contact DWS, great tires if you live somewhere with a decent amount of precipitation. I have Dunlop fierce instincts on now.. Pretty close in performance to the DWS just a little bit cheaper. They are slightly louder of a ride though.
I had a set of these and they wore out too quickly, not particularly good at anything than ice and compacted snow traction. They are good enough to get you going no matter what in those instances but the sidewalls were just plain weaksauce... I couldn't recommend these tires. at the wear bars before 20K miles. above average hydroplaning experience.
I'd suggest putting on what i have on my 'balt right now for all seasons. The Goodyear F1 Asymmetric All Seasons. For the first half of tread life the wet traction is stunning in all aspects. The tire does a much better job than the DWS in all demanding driving considerations wet, dry, hot, warm, or cold. The difference between the DWS and F1 Assy's in hot (days warmer than 80 degrees) is stunning.
Half way through the tread life the wet launching performance drops off noticeably but it is acceptable. At half tread depth the fresh snow and compacted snow performance is surprising. When new they are great on snow. On ice its easier to induce wheel spin and they, by way of sound level measure using the same phone, same conditions were quieter in the first half of life, 1db louder in the second half. Although I am a bit annoyed at the typical Goodyear wet traction drop off, its not nearly as bad as I had experienced with other tires in or of different class. I am at 34k miles and a nice 6/32s on the just rotated to the front tires and 5/32s on the rears. They ride a smidge harder than the DWS but these are light years ahead of the DWS.
FwiwI have also had Goodyear Eagle GT (Not the latest versiuon just released) and they were a fine tire but I'd probably point you to the DWS's if you were considering the outgoing tread pattern &f ormulation on clearance.
I am not sure if I am going to go with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's or another set of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric All Seasons. I like to try as many different tires as I can but the F1s aren't leaving me to want much at this point.

I also drive pretty hard relatively often as the opportunities present themselves. Its always a great drive when there is no one around (except spirited driving company).
I have yet to own a set of Michelins and am actually looking forward to putting a set on when these tires get to their end of life. The initial buzz on the internet is pretty good for the Pilot A/s 3. I just wish I knew someone with a set.
