wait for the 08.5 ss balt ... it's supposed to have the F40 tranny, plus the quaife differential is a conversion it's not a true 6 speed i don't think

and i would think the F40 is going to be able to hold power considering stock the lnf is putting down 260 and they're going to be releasing stage kits.. so i'll bet money it can take alot more then the F35

I'm pretty sure the 260 is at the flywheel. Most solstice/sky dynos I've seen are around 220-230 at the wheels. The cobalts will probably be around 240whp if they don't change anything power-wise.

The F40 can handle 350 hp. I am pretty sure it is crank hp. But swapping out with a tougher clutch, and I'm sure 400 is no problem.

would a f40 trans swap be something that possible on a lsj? that would be nice.

possibly. From what I've heard the crankshaft will have the same bolt pattern for the flywheel, but I'm not sure if the bellhousing will bolt on directly.

My bad, that number is the torque that it can handle, not hp. Little typo, thanks for correcting.

Brain fart. I would assume that when you get up to the 400hp range, torque will be right around 350. Jeeze, now that I think about it, this car will be good for high 11's low 12's with bolt ons a turbo swap and a good tune.

i said that in another thread... however depending on the turbo I would think it's going to be more of a high 10s

less traction issues stock should probably make it a high 13 low 14 second car.. i would think the stage kits they release would put the car at a low 12 lvl not to mention anything crazy, I mean think about it stg 2 on the ss sc is good for mid 13s , I know it's harder to drop time as you go but the biggest problem with the ss sc is traction now with the 08 ss actually being able to have traction i think we'll see much better times

well isnt the LNF just a LSJ with a turbo? it is basically the same motor they put in the saab 9-3's right? i think everything should bolt up just fine...

What do you base that on? Since I have yet to see any 08 lnf run .

it's a guestimation on how the GXP solstice felt with the turbo i know it's RWD but i still think that you'll have less trouble with the LNF then the LSJ

nope, the LNF is a completely different motor. same pistons rods and crank, but totally different fuel system and head. It is DIRECT INJECTION, and nobody has been able to tune much above 300whp with direct injection yet. From what I've heard, it's been a real pain in the ass.

Turbo LSJ FTW

Yeah, good luck with that.

It's hillarious how much people do not have a ******* clue on the lnf engines, but they see "turbo" associated with it and they think they can just bolt up anything like a SRT4 or Evo.

According to GM's official release, it's coming with the F35, look toward the bottom of the page in the specs. https://www.cobaltss.net/cobalt_ss_turbocharged/

And the Quaife 6-speed is a conversion for the F35, going for only a measly $4,195. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...t=Quaife+speed

the block is different too, the fuel injectors are in the block not the head

hehe thanks... i was going to say.. I know they have a stage 1 which I thought they said was 315 hp (crank obviously) but i guess i had my stages mixed up. It's strange because I think the pontiac dealership by me actually might know what they're talking about .. well least the guy i drove the GXP with, he was saying he was pretty sure they were releasing a turbo balt *which he heard through the grape vine* ( this was like 2 or 3 months ago) and that the gxp stage kits were in development and will probably be in production as a dealer option with the mid 08 releases...

thats more then i can say about the saturn dealership i goto lol
