I'm assuming you are planning to mount and unmount them every sprint/fall? That is going to be a pain in the ass and going to end up costing a lot in the long run...

Assuming he has a SS/TC, we don't really have a choice this winter since nobody can find wheels that fit without spacers. I put winters on my stock rims and hope to pick up new rims by next spring.

I ended up going with Hankook Ice Bear for my winter tires....put them on my stock rims and left my summer tires on my summer rims. My summer rims require spacers but I have had no issues with them...I even got an set of aftermarket tpm sensors for the summer rims....and reprogramming the tpms takes about 5 mins with a air line and tire guage...no need for re-mounting here!

Not sure the part number...basically looked them up on ebay. Mine actually came off of an 08 cobalt ls or lt....when i bought my rims I handed them over to the tire guy at Big O and they installed them. You have to reset the tpms each time you change over your wheels but that procedure is given in the manual...

Turn key to on position with handbrake engaged (don't turn car on though)...press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time...the horn will beep twice and the driver front turn signal will come on. Go to that tire and either put air in or let air out for about 5 s until the car beeps and the paasenger turn signal lights up...continue around the car in a clock-wise direction and at the end turn off the car. Fill up your tires and check with gauage then off you go

Ohhh...and my set of 4 cost me a little less than $100 shipped....but you can probably get them cheaper by now....I did mine first week I bought it (June)

LOL $100 for ANY new 18inch wheels sounds like an awesome deal. A factory wheel that is clearcoated..... more like $400+ a piece.

you can get the tpms from a dealer, but they will run you about 70+ each...I got the set of 4 off of ebay for less than 100 total....they just happened to come off a different 08 (probably wrecked or stripped)....The ones on the stock rims were green (if I remember correctly) and the ones I bought were black...same part though....

my winter tires were around 170/each ...so less than 700 total...they are comparable to the Dunlop 3Ds (which were 200 more)....

the one thing you will notice when resetting the tpms is that the tpms usually reads slightly lower than an actual pressure guage...this was my case with both the stock and extra tpms sensors....nothing to worry about though as the difference is the same across all four tires
