HA! Look what happened to me, today.
HA! Look what happened to me, today.

I was just putting along at about 35 MPH on a straight neighborhood road and the 'ol bucket starts beeping at me and my steering wheel starts feeling heavy.
that doesnt work. i was going around a curve at 3;30 in the morning one day and it kicked out on me. i guess my car thought it wanted to be like ken blocks subaru and went offroading. two mailboxes and a street sign later, and gm said they couldnt do anything about it. fml.

i contacted chevy about my issue. i never had any warning was leaving my bank dn the car pulled to the right forcing me into a pebble creek wall scraping my bumper and ruined my Enkei rim. called the dealership right after it happened we thought it was the brakes at the time becasue they hadnt issued the recall yet, they didnt find aanything wrong. i'm still having other issues with my car and chevy says that cn't do anything about the dmamge that happened, and they can't find whats wrong with my brakes or sunroof.
after my encounter, my local dealerSHIT said that since their was a recall it should have been my responibility to get it in sooner before it hapened so they did nothing. so i got stuck replacing my front bumper, lip, grill, fixing the hood, replacing the winshield, sunroof, and radiator and heat exchanger. it sucked.

Cop: "you sure?"
you: "absolutely officer, if I go under 55 through the neighborhood I could lose power steering and hit a young boy or something."
*puppy dog eyes*
104 degrees today, start the car, pull it around the shop to get ready for a rear brake pad replacement, and I left it running a couple minutes because we had to play musical forklifts/cars/trucks and when I came back, moved the wheel an inch, POWER STEERING comes up...wheel gets heavy...nice, restart, 30 seconds later after im about to shut it off on the rack, POWER STEERING.
Two phone calls, dealer calls back, tells me they don't have time to do it today, monday or next week at all. I say "give me the part I will do it." Short while later replace it, serviced the rear brakes for the third or fourth time replaced slide pins, added closed cell foam rings between caliper and mount, effectively sealing in the grease. I need to do a write up on that, genius of a way to do it, the sheets I cut it out of is rated for 450 degrees, should be enough if it's not oh well.

Mine went out totally at around 8000 miles going over speed bumps in a parking lot. Got the first recall notice a few months back but have been still waiting on the 2nd one. My dealership was actually very cool about it and fixed it under warranty without any questions asked last weekend. Today, I finally got the 2nd letter. LOL.
solution... take it to a cheap hotel with valets where you know they will rod it and drive it into a wall once the power steering fails like this... let their insurance pay for it
