The only housings most likely you will find that fit that bulb are stock and shouldn't be used with hid. Hid in stock housings blind on coming traffic. If you need housing get a set with projector housings and the bulbs that fit. Most use H1 bulbs and most likely will fit your ballasts so ya can reuse them. Send your bulbs back and get the right ones.

The Depo gen 4 are h7 I think, would that just plug right into my existing ballasts? I don't want to have to splice and rewire anything just plug and play

yes the ballast will plug into the different bubs
FYI the aftermarket projector headlight housings for Cobalts have 2 bulbs one for low and one for high so you will have to buy a second set of HIDs if you want to have HID high beams

I'd probably just do traditional bulbs to save the headache. So I can just remove my current ballasts and then just plug and play with the depos?

yes,
what would plug into the traditional bulb goes to the ballast and then the other plugs go to the HID bulb

I'm not super familiar with cobalt lights I drive a redline, but like said above it looks like about all of the aftermarket housings split the high/low so if you have bi-xenon ballast you might just have to get all new ballasts. I have always done well with xentec off eBay. Get the metal housing ballasts. I've had my set for 8 years now and just bought a set for my fog lights for $30 with bulbs. Only problem I see with the gen4 high beam is a halogen projector so you will want a low beam hid and use the halogen h7 bulb for high side. Make sure you adjust it all after so you don't blind peeps.

incorrect the ballast just provides power to the bulb, the wiring harness is what controls the hi/low function

ballast are interchangeable from fog to hi to low to bi bulb set ups

Like I said not familiar with cobalt. Mine has one bulb for high/low. Either way the gen4 housings only have low beam housings and need halogen high beams from the looks.

the gen4 housings have a low beam Projector and high beam Reflector both use H7 bulbs
the housings will come with 4 (2 for each side) H7 bulbs so they work out of the box
if RayneLeaf wants to upgrade to HIDs in the project and use the Ballast they already have then they would just need to purchase a set of H7 HID bulbs
