I have the high wing on my car (dealer order) and it took 3 days to get used to it.
It's OK, will not be changing it but I could take it or leave it.

Its completely personal preference - I like the low rise, IMO the high rise interrupts the smooth lines of the car. I would have settled for the high rise, but I'm glad I was able to find one with a low rise. It all depends on what you like - who cares what other people think.

drove to phionex with the high rise drove back with the low rise. both going 100+ at times... didnt notice a difference other then the cop that pulled me over on the way back had a slower radar then my brakes went from 105 to 80 or 85 on the ticket. i got it thrown out anyway thou

That's exactly my opinion as well. At first I really didn't like it, but at this point I'm more or less ambivalent. I do wish it wasn't quite so flimsy, though.

^Pretty much accurate.

Here's the full scoop:

from Motive Magazine test of 08 SS:
http://www.motivemag.com/pub/feature...obalt_SS.shtml
70 mph = 23 pounds downforce
120 mph = 68.7 pounds downforce
155 mph top speed = 115 pounds downforce
without wing top speed = drag-limited 160mph

So people who say stuff like it's not functional or that it doesn't provide downforce either don't know the facts or are purposely trying to ignore them.

Learn people.

Don't let ignorance be your friend ...

I immediately walked away from SC's I was looking at just for the one reason they didn't have the hi-rise wing.

The 'Balt's simplistic lines NEEDS the bigger wing, not to mention it's been proven that it provides a useful function.

its been proven that its the equivalent of having 5 heavy sandbags in your trunk at high speeds, to help keep your ass end planted under heavy braking.
for a road racer, id hardly call that "far from useful"
I was talking about daily drivers, which 99.9% of the cars on this site are. I should have mentioned that in my other post. Most people drag race as opposed to road race, so theoretically the high rise would be the WORST wing to have in that situation. I've only seen about 2 or 3 members who actually road raced their cobalts. It's still on my list of things to do with the car before I get rid of it, but I don't think i'll be trading wings when I hit the track.

The low wing does not have a snowball's chance in hell of making 100+ pounds of downforce at freway speed.

Wouldn't suprise me if it was less than 5 pounds.

^I concur!

But let me go on the record as saying that if someone likes the appearance of the lo-rise wing over the hi-rise, then God Bless them!

In the end, those people are making their car payments ... and I'm making mine.

So whatever makes a person happy on a car that they have to pay for is what counts.

i agree 100%. i think it's so ugly, and it only looks good at the right angle. i don't regret getting rid of my high rise one bit

eh I kinda like my high rise, although I agree it does block your vision, and it's flimsy as hell on the highway. However at night when I have to go to my car to get something, the silhouette with high rise on there is sexy ;x

i love the look of the sporty high rise..

but at highway speeds it wobbles... and if a cop is behind you... you can not see the cop lights above the car

I don't own one, but i saw a high wing on the street the other day. It's looks pretty cool in the pictures, but from behind it looks stupid imo.

If i would have had the option i would have went with the low pro , but the high rise has grown on me . I'd prolly swap if the low pro would cover the whole base area the high rise covered , cause i'm sure that there would be some creases around the base .

I'd go wingless or highrise.. Mine came with the lowprofile spoiler (see in my pics) Which looked ok.. but i was trying to get away from the LT/LS look. But again, it's all preference. I have the highrise on it now, (look in my new post) And i like it a lot. But i will agree, crusing speeds it flexes, and i have to close my trunk carefully otherwise it'll shake lol. But looks, i think it looks a lot better myself

To me, the 'Balt has a distinct egg shape, made obvious by the lack of a hi-rise wing.

So I'll keep my hi-rise then ... thank you very much!

I think it looks pretty good. Gives it some aggressive looks. The low spoiler makes it seem like it's nothing out of the ordinary, sleeper look.
that's very not true, if you drive any cobalt at high speeds, you can def feel the diff on a wingless car.

I don't doubt it. I doubt GM would have put it on their unless it did something. Plus it looks good!

that's my point, wingless cars (either wing) are a lot more tail happy

yea, having extra downforce while taking a high speed turn is worthless

stop believing so much of what you read.
