I've had this problem for a while now. In fact my powersteering clipped out on me again just the other day. When I called my local dealership about the letter, I was told that this was only a letter to the customer to let them know that GM knows this is a problem. I was also told that I will be sent a postcard stating when the recall parts will be available which might be a little while yet.

My coldside piping was replaced for this. It a radiator support bolt that sticks up too high and rubs the rubber part of the coldside.

I got the notice to let me know there will be another notice sent when parts are available whoopee. But more important, has anyone had the parts replaced yet?

When I was in last week for rear brakes, they showed showed me that my car has no recalls and didn't know anything about the steering recall (you'd think the service guys would know about a million cars recalled) I need to go back for the brakes (4th time in the last two weeks) but if the steering parts are going on car, I might hold off until I get the official notice.

correctly stated it's a bolt that the hotside clips to that can and has caused rubbing on the high pressure fuel pump sensor and caused it to throw DTCs. The replacement is higher and pushes the charge pipe away from it about 1/4 inch, I know, they gave me the recall part and install sheet, did it with a leatherman in the parking lot.

I got a notice from the local dealer that my car was on the recall list and to call right away and schedule a time to come in. I call right away and they said they didn't even have any new assist motors yet and too call back in a month. In the mean time mine failed and the DIS said "POWER STEERING FAILURE". Really, no kidding, damn near ran off the road as I was turnling onto the freeway. The interior of the car was extremely hot as I just got in and started it and the A/C hadn't had tlme to cool the interior off yet. After I got home and let it sit a while it reset it's self and started working again. Seems to be related to the thermal over load in the motor. I have made sure the interior was cool before startilng out and haven't had the problem again.
I called my dealer again and they now said that there are plenty of replacement motors and all I have to do is tell them to order one, which I did and my car is currently at the dealer getting change.
Got another recall notice about leaking fuel pump connection. I haven't here about that one but they are changing the fuel pump at the same time. Hope to get ilt back Monday.

Haha aren't they supposed to check up on it? Hell, take the extra power steering motor and sell it off. Someone on here will probably buy it...

I just got an official letter 2 days ago. The first one only stated that when parts become available I'll receive notice to set an appt. After getting new tires, I noticed my power steering hadn't acted up as much.
