Horn stays on when headlights are running ?
Horn stays on when headlights are running ?
Hey everyone , . I just got done doing a head swap on my 2010 cobalt ss . The whole job went well with no issues , car runs perfectly fine .
The only issue I'm having is after i put everything back together ,'now whenever my headlights are in the "auto" or "on" position , my horn goes on and stays on. Just a constant beep. When I switch the controls for the headlights to the amber lights, the horn does not sound.. when I push the lever for the headlights forward to put on the brights, it works fine and the horn don't go off .. and when I'm driving with my high beams on and press the horn , the regular lights go on as if I were to flash someone.
I'm thinking it might be something with my fuse box , or a ground maybe ? There was only one ground that I remember of when doing the job , and I put it back to where it was .
Anybody have any clues or had this issue before? Thanks all !!

if it were me i'd probably just unplug the horn and be done with it lol.

I am going to agree. Sounds like the Horn and Light wires are shorting somewhere. I would start by looking at the fuse box. If everything looks good there then trace the wires until you find where they are shorting together.
I'm pretty sure the only ground I touched when doing the head was one by the high pressure fuel pump . And that was the only one I had to remove. So I'm assuming my problem most likely is in the fuse box . I'll check that out tomorrow since it's gonna be warm . I'll come back and let you guys know what I find !
