how can I tell if tuned?
how can I tell if tuned?
EDIT:: Hit 24 PSI omw to work today with ESC OFF. It appears with it on and not in competitive mode i only hit 16 lbs, so it can switch.
Maybe is a trifecta tune...will try it with ESC ON again just to make sure omw home tonight.

With the temperature being that cold outside and checking the elevation for St. Louis, your car shouldn't be boosting that high to make the 260/260. If anything, it should be boosting lower than stock boost, which is roughly 15psi, in those conditions.
Some of the following tunes may be activated all the time: Trifecta, HPT, Superchips, PPC, etc. As for switchable tunes, Trifecta tunes (or HP tunes which use the Trifecta select-a-tune function) work as follows: If the tune is set with the cruise control, it will be activated when the cruise control button is switched on. If the tune is set to follow the traction control button, the tune will be activated when the car is switched to "competitive mode" or if traction control and esc are disabled (this is done by holding the traction control button for about 10 seconds until you see "esc off" flash on the driver information center).

Ok, i did the whole ESC off omw to work today. Held into it in 2nd and 3rd gear and hit 24lbs of boost in both gears.
So I am apparently tuned also...how can I tell which tune it is now? Haha.

Yea, you are definitely tuned if you hit those boost levels with esc off but don't hit them otherwise. If you know someone with tuning software, they could read the PCM and see what tune you have. You can also try this, send Vince an email at Vince@trifectaperformance.com and give him your VIN. Maybe he can look it up to see if he tuned the car. All Trifecta tunes are created by Vince (the owner of Trifecta Performance) whereas HP tunes are created by various individuals/tuning shops.
happy and sad that i found out i'm tuned.
happy that i'm already tuned and don't have to redo it yet...til i finish a few bolt-ons.
but sad that it's already tuned and i can't get a huge increase in power from tuning =P lol

used to be a decent scene that would meet up in Ultimate Electronics lot in Fairview but cops chased em all out really, now i work nights and don't get to get out too much anymore.
EDIT:btw, emailed Vince, took him all of 3minutes to get back to say he can look up my VIN, so waiting for that reply. Shocked at the speed he replied haha.
EditPart2:From Vince: According to my records, we tuned it in November 2010 through a St Louis reseller.
It is official. Thanks go out to Boosted4 for the info.

No problem man, glad to hear we got it figured out. Yea Vince is a great guy, usually responds very quickly to emails. Now you know what's up with your car, and that it wasn't tuned by some random clueless dude with his own HPT software
now to see if what else is done, need to get under the car and take a look at the exhaust, i'll assume intercooler is stock since it has stock piping to the throttle body.
good times ahead
Well technically the car is always "tuned" with the Trifecta tune, just the regular mode mimics that of a stock tune, whereas the competition mode/esc off mode activates the big boy tune. I'd throw some octane booster in it, and try to limit WOT runs while you run that tank down.
I'll be sure to fill it up from now on, she only put in a little bit, i'm at a little over 1/4 tank left, so i'll just drive around a little extra after work.
Yea it says 87 is fine but expect some pinging (detonation) which isn't good lol. They just put that in there to pretend like they're giving you an option when in reality you have no option but premium unless you want the car to run like complete **** haha
You should be fine if you fill it up to the tippy top with 93. If you want to make sure though, just run it down to when the gas light comes on. But like I said, you should be fine with only a 1/4 tank.
That "Premium recommended" sticker is for the stock tune, just expect some performance loss for the duration of that 87 and then the time it takes the ECU to recalibrate itself after you put 93 in it.
Wouldn't recommend running the Trifecta Tune until after you've burned that 87 out.

Edit: reading owns. Don't be disappointed that you won't get much power from a tune. there is still power to be had. Selectable tunes are dumb. IMO.
And dart if I get my car back tomorrow I may be around in the evening lookin for some fun. But that's a big IF. See sig for why.

Read up a few posts chief, we figured it out. He's Trifecta tuned. I think the select-a-tune is a great feature. Not only for tuning a stock turbo car, but also for an upgraded turbo.
