USB jack was only available on the 09 and up TC I believe. I am pretty sure the 07 and 08 SS did have the AUX jack though. You can play music through either USB or AUX with your Iphone. With the USB I am pretty sure you can control the Iphone through the radio.

Will golf clubs fit in a Cobalt SS?

I have fit 2 sets of clubs in my car with room to spare.

Can you get heated seats?

On the 06 and 07 SS/SC you could. You couldn't get heated seats with the Recaro package though.

Do they all come with a subwoofer in the trunk?

Yes. All Cobalt SS have the 6+1 Pioneer speaker system.

Lastly, is there a PDF showing the options available? That should shut me up I would think...

Options differ on each model year. The main options are:
05 SS/SC - Sunroof/Onstar/G85
06 & 07 SS/SC - Sunroof/Onstar/heated seats (non recaro seats only)/G85
08 & 09 SS/TC - Sunroof/G85/RPD (reconfigurable performance display) (onstar is standard)
10 SS/TC - only option is G85 (sunroof, Onstar and RPD are standard options on 2010 models)

I agree about the MPG. My LSJ consistantly got about 2 MPG better than my LNF. As far as the transmission goes, the LNF stock clutch is must stronger than the LSJ stock clutch was. Also, the lower final drive makes the LNF transmission much better to drive in first gear for day to day driving. In hard driving first is still pretty much useless though.
Thanks for the info, that was very informative. But you said the supercharged version got you better mileage then the turbo version? Wonder why...

cause the sc whines when you give it gas, so you stay off it, the tc loves it hard so naturally you push it in more , that explains it good enough

I have averaged about 26 MPG for the winter and about 28 MPG in the summer with my LNF. In my LSJ I usually averaged about 26-28 MPG winter, but I could consistantly average 30+ MPG with my LSJ in the spring/summer/fall.

The LNF now has 15K on the motor, so maybe it will get a little better MPG with the motor really broke in, I guess we will see. I didn't really buy it for better gas mileage...

My guess as to why there is a difference in MPG is this:

The LSJ has a boost bypass which completely bypasses the SC at certain low throttle positions. So when you are cruising down the highway, etc. the airflow going into the manifold goes from the TB to the manifold, bypassing the SC completely. This allows both a lower air volume and lower fueling at cruise as well as lower parasitic loss as the SC is not compressing any air.
All airflow on the LNF has to pass through the turbo, then through the heat exchanger, then into the manifold. So even at cruising the turbo is still "pushing" air causing a higher air volume to enter the combustion chamber, even in vaccuum, in turn causing higher fueling at cruise over the LSJ.

28 MPG is still pretty good considering the power to weight ratio that most TCs are pushing though.

I think the LNF tranny has a more streetable gear ratio than the SS/SC . Thats the only difference that im aware of is the 4.05 final in the SC vs the 3.82 in the TC . The first to 2nd gear change in the SC is way to wide IMHO. But it's lower gear helps the tranny live in high hp situations ( like 350+whp 3rd gear pulls ) .

As for the rest ... I think the recaro's on my SS/SC were better than my TC seats . On the street the brembo's don't have any advantages over the SS/SC breaks ....in car and driver the ss/sc actually stopped 1 foot shorter than the tc did lol.

The LNF is simple to make 330 whp with but if your looking for 400+ than it's LSJ> LNF . The LSJ is a great motor .... and simple. Plus the powerband is much better than a stock turbo LNF .... I would bet a 300 whp LSJ would pull a 330 whp LNF 9 times out of 10 .

LSJ powerband looks like /
LNF powerband looks like /\ ......lol

I get almost the same mileage with my LNF and 45k miles on it. My mileage leveled out around 10-15k miles.

I thought the RPD was 2009+.

i love my sc(despite it's "short-cummings"), but i have driven/ridden in, and help tune a few tc's and they are pretty nicefrom the factory, and a little coin and they get so much better/more fun. imo they can hold their own

The LSJ and LNF don't compare, The LNF is just an overall better car, it has more power, No lift shift and launch control just better everything

If you have the money get an LNF, no questions asked

Make sure you get a LSD in the thing. Helps quite a bit on dig runs. I love the TC. The SC can be made very quick with the right work.

the steering wheels are different too... i love my TC ... never driven an SC. heated seats are a bullshit option unless you drive it in the winter.. which i don't.. if you live in a cold place they're nice...

They compare ..... just new vs old . The stuff you listed isn't what i would call ground breaking ...... launch control is pretty much worthless as it sits stock .

IIRC the 07 SS/SC had the same steering wheel as the tc does.

I gotta admit, I miss the supercharger scream a little bit, but the TC is definitely a better car. It just drives a lot better.

disagree. i rock the seat warmers in the summer all the time during the evening and morning all the time. ill never own a car without ass warmers again

i always had to take my drivers and woods outta my golf bag to get them to fit in my trunk. if your really worried about golf club storage tho get a 350z they have a dedicated spot for them

Any differences between the sedan and the coupe? What's the weight difference?
ya about 40lbs difference, the lsj is a nice car for the money but its worth it to save up 5k or 6k more to buy the lnf, the sedan onnly comes with grey and black interior and there is not rpd option cant think of any other differences atm

The tc is a better car but the sc isnt a bad car either.

To make this simple they took a good SS and made a better SS with the TC.

lol i must agree with post #30... I LOOOOOOVE my recaro's. I sat in the ss/tc and ss/sc seats. it just isnt the same. so a draw back is i dont have heated seats... im not a chick, i wear jeans most of the time so my ass being cold for the whole 20 seconds it takes for my body heat to warm my seat i can handle myself lol. but no matter what i'd still rather have a ss/tc. there just so beautiful in every aspect i think. im not knocking my LSJ. i love lisa (my car) with all my heart. sometimes ill catch myself at the end of the night parking up petting my steering wheel saying u did good tonight babe thanks... dont call me weird but i talk to my car sometimes. Cobalts in general are awesome. LS1's are even better

When the 2008 SS/TC came out I took one for a test drive and wasn't impressed. My 2005 SS/SC wasn't quite as torquey, but it was much faster.

In 2009 I got to ride in a SS/TC with the Stage 1 kit and it was a totally different beast. Much more torquey and it was faster than my SS/SC. Then I got to ride in a HPTuned SS/TC and I went and bought one. When properly tuned the LNF will run circles around all but the heaviest modded LSJs.

If you are building a drag car, then the LSJ is better simply because it has a better aftermarket and since it is MPFI it is easier to deal with.
