Thanks for all who responded, test drove one the other day and I really want one! Now I just need to find a way to keep the white areas of the rear seats from getting dirty lol. If only the 4 doors came with the black interior....

I bought my 2008 SS for 17,800, fully loaded with the optional high-rise rear spoiler. It wouldn't hurt to consider looking on autotrader or any similar site for private sellers. I got really lucky. This guy just bought a house because he has a kid on the way, and the Cobalt was his weekend warrior.

Hopefully you can find some good private party deals! Good luck.

Mine was 15,995 for an 09 fully loaded with everything but the digital multi display and a real spare tire.

Roughly $20K+TTT after $4K rebates. MSRP was $25,300.
Everything except ashtray: RPD, LSD, USB Radio, Sunroof, Spare, cop-magnet HiWing.

Come Thursday or so, we'll see if I pulled the trigger at the right time - new incentives for April are due out, right?

Where are you people seeing these < $19k deals? Are these the wind damaged cars? Used? Lots of "test drive" miles?

I have both, or did. Over the weekend my 130k mile 1998 base model civic DX with lots-o-rust got replaced by the SS. Quite a trade up! I'm loving the new car, and will be recommending it to others for sure

Look how many SS turbos are under 20k and with low miles. Dont' buy a "new" from the dealer buy a slightly "used" one for a few thousand less.
