How Much should I ask?
How Much should I ask?
Well Boys and Girls..
It's been a fun ride, but it's time to move on to bigger and better things...like a 2011/12 Camaro 2SS.
The Cobalt is paid off, so I am going to try and sell it out right rather than loose the shirt off my back trading it in.
The KBB is 17.5k in excellent condition and 16.5k in GOOD condition. I'll have about 30k mi on it when I sell. It's a black, Coupe, G85...Its in excellent condition, IMO.
My Mods are in my sig and most have been on the car less than a year.
So with the mods, I was thinking about asking $19k. Do you guys think thats fair?
I paid $3500 for just the wheels and tires a lone. I have all the stock parts, except for the stock tires. The car is up to date on all recalls...
It's still under warranty and I have the GMPP extended warranty.
What do you guys think? Is 19k too much? too little?
Thanks!!

how about u just sell it for 19,000 im pretty sure someone will buy it.... think aobut it this way if people buy evos used with 70,000 to 80,000 miles on it for $25,000 or more then i dont see why u cant sell it for 19,000....plus im gonna be honest with u, on this forum people are gonna low ball u, thats how the game is played
Umm last post ^^^^^ that's bc it's a FREAKING EVO,!!!!!!! haha, those things can run alot long than our cobalts no matter how u take care of them. I worked at a dealership n people always thought adding mods made a difference but never does. On the sellers eyes it does. I'd try maybe 15,000 max damn even if u get lower that's money u can spend on what ever. Just saying what year and miles. N the GMPP extended warranty won't matter. Not transferable, is try 15,000 obo
Mods almost never add value to a street car like a Cobalt, in fact most people are leery about buying a car they think was beat on. $19k is way too high, but ask whatever you want and see what happens. Just be prepared for some low ball offers.
Considering a lot of people paid $19k or less for their LNF new that will be a hard price to get.
IMO, when I'm looking at a car to buy the condition of the car will tell me how much I'm willing to pay or if I'm even willing to make the purchase. Small things can say a lot about a car, like rubber inside the wheel wells, condition of the bottom of the side skirts, the rear lip kit around the exhaust.
For example: The typical 03/04 Cobra with 30k miles goes for about $21-22k. Recently a SVTP member sold his for $30k. Why? It was probably the cleanest and most well taken care of 04 Cobra available.

Cobalt's like yours have sold for 19g on here recently. List it for a couple weeks and see if it gets any bites. Worst case scenario is you take a couple offers and lower the price if needed.

I paid 18.5 with 5k on mine so I'm gonna say 19 k is a bit much. But used car prices have gone up alot and it is a desirable. So maybe. You can always lower it. Mods seem to scare a lot of ppl. I say pull those sell them then sell the car as clean and unmodded.
I Paid 19.2K for mine new ..... but it was right before GM was going to declare bankruptcy so there was alot of speculation on what was going to happen . I'm sure dealers where trying to get rid of some of their stock on the lot...... the dealer i bought mine from had 5 SS/TC's....... and he moved 4 in a week and a half hehe/

I just got offered 13k for my car over the weekend on a trade in. Mine's an '08 with 37,xxx miles. I realized, though, that my car's paid off and I like having no car payment. This was for a trade on a used car, though. If it was for a brand new car, I probably would have done it. These cars are becoming more and more difficult to find and more and more desireable as people find they are a great bang for the buck performance machine. Ask 19k and see what happens. I would think 17k should be no problem to get a quick sale but ask a bit more and see if you can get it.
or someone buys a practically brand spanking new 2010 cobalt ss for 18k. People are not buying cars straight up that much, typically they go to the dealership to finance, sure you might be able to sell for 19k, but it will be 4 month later after finally finding a real buyer not a tire kicker. when someone is looking for a cobalt ss, they will settle for the cheaper better condition ss, not the one that has cool rims, and a gms1. Kids usually want the cool looking cars with lots of modification (this site is full of them) hence tire kickers. now if you wanna sell your car, sell your car, not the **** you bought for your car (sell it separately)
