How often do you wash your SS/TC ?
I am curious as to how well we SS/TC owners treat our cars...
With the many different cars I have owned over the years, all of the different auto communities I interacted with had some basic things in common. Those who treat their cars well did 2 primary things on a regular basis....Oil Changes and Car Washes....the frequency and expense put towards each of these being a solid indicator of how well the car was treated overall.
So I now pose the same question to the Cobaltss.net SS/TC owners.
Since I can not post 2 polls in one post, I will have them each be seperate threads.
Historically speaking, when people do not give a crap about their cars, they tend not to wash let alone wax their cars. The only cleaning these cars get is from mother nature on a rainy day. On the other hand, those who take extreme car of their cars will panic every time they see a fingerprint on their car's paint.
But where do we fit in with all of this? Do you treat your car like a fine work of art or do you have a difficult time telling what color the car originally was?
Vote in the poll and let's find out.

This was my first new car purchase. I wash it after anytime it gets rained on unless the forcast isn't looking too great. The car is kept outside and the birds **** on it daily...I removed the poop asap. I don't know how it happened but I got a ton of **** stuck to the paint on one day to work...removing it left scratches on the front clip, hood, fenders, and mirrors. The one thing I hate about owning a new car is I get to see every flaw happen

Interesting that you mention that...just the other day I had an epic quantity of bird **** on my car. It was shockingly bad....I was in a lot and not a single other car was hit.
Needless to say, I was euphoric when I finally got to the car wash.

I wash and wax my car as often as I can. Keeping it looking nice is a major battle.
Sucks though, a black car looks fantastic for about 15 minutes... then it's dirty again LOL.

The brakes are great, but OH MY GAWD DO THEY DUST THE WHEELS !
The Camaro came w/ ceramics - you could go for a while before you saw any dust.
The 'Balt's - look at em wrong and they are dusty again. Yeesh !
AMEN !
And, you find 'em when you wash it ...
I used to be way more attentive to the Camaro when it was new , but have since gotten lazy. It hides in the garage when not in use, but w/ all the crap we have there is no room for a second car. So, the Balt sits outside which means that after the morning dew say Buh BYE to that clean car look - at least on the windows.
This has reinforced my laziness ...
Maybe I'll give her a bath today - no promises, though.

1-2 times / week; it's black, I have no choice but oddly enough don't mind doing it
. Come winter I'll be out there freezing my ***** off doing it by hand as well unless the temperatures remain sub-freezing (in which case it's WORSE to wash the salt off) or I have 10 feet of that white **** (commonly known as snow) in my driveway.

I wash mine bout once a week. And wax bout once a month or so. In the winters I rince the salt off as well. But these aluminum wheels drive me ****** nuts. Ill drive the 1 mile home from the wash and there is break dust on them already
When I first got it I wouldn't let a spec of dust stay on it for more than a couple seconds. Haha my neighbours thought I was nuts. It's been a couple months now and Ive relaxed a bit, but I usually give it a real good detail around once a week or when it's really dirty, and a wax when I notice the water doesn't sheet off anymore (so far 2 waxes in like 3-4 months). I like to keep it looking nice, but it's a real struggle with a black car. Oh well, gives me something to do on a Sunday :p
Note: this is also the first car I've bought, and I'm generally a neat-freak anyways

I drive 30k miles a year, i never wash it hahaha. Ive had the new TC/SS for a couple months maybe and its dirty as hell. I was installing my RSB and my face rubbed the exhaust tip by accident..well I was all black. I also have left clean spots on the bumper from when I touched it. ie. its all dirty, but I touched it to move myself under my car so now its a dirty bumper with clean hand prints
Theres bug guts covering the front and window... meh I'll clean it soon though I want to debadge it.
Just dont over polish the car... waxing is fine (NOT polishing wax), but I see some people polish the car once a week or even once a month - that paint wont last 5 years of that before you burn through the clear and the paint starts to fade.
Some of the best (old) paint I've seen is on cars that were rarely washed - because most of the clear was still there, all it took was a bit of polish to get rid of the oxidized layer, and the paint looked nearly new.

I wash about every two weeks only because I live in an apartment building and they freak out if I even vacuum my car, damn commies... I waxed it about 2 months after I got and when we get a real hard downpour it pretty much washes itself, lol. Id wash it weekly if I had easier means
This is why I bought U-Silver. Even when its dirty, It looks clean. I would say most important thing is to keep interior clean. You neglect the leather then ur fcked. The exterior, not so much. The dust, and dirt can help protect the paint sometimes. I used to wash mine once a week. Now I'm lucky to wash it once a month.
I never have time, when I finally wash it the winds pick up the sand and **** it all up, or it rains like a 100 drops and then the winds blows sand on it, so yeah it's dirty all the ******* time
if your car is in the sun it'll eat the clear coat and the paint will fade, I hate even thinkin about it cause my car's all covered in sand like 3 weeks or more before I can get to wash it
