474 sedans, so I'd say they're pretty rare no matter how they're equipped.

But overall, I agree with those that say the SS/TC is a pretty rare car in general. When you consider how many Cobalts were built total, they're a very small percentage of overall production.

I agree . I think the SS/SC and SS/TC are pretty rare regardless..... I know there are more SS/SC's but they are still few and far between where i live. I see more C5 and C6 Z06's then i do SS/SC's and TC's .

When I bought mine they had to do a dealer trade to get it, wanted white, there were none available (May '09). Had a lot easier time finding my wife's GTI without one. I hate sunroofs.

Not rare as far as an SS cobalt is concerned. However, everything is relative. Only 2% of cobalts made were SS's and quite a few of those have been totaled already, so it is rare in a manner of speaking.

Yep .... neither of my SS's had sunroofs ..... I was pretty adamant about finding one without one . Even with coupes most that i looked at when buying had sunroofs so it was kind of a pain to find one without it .

Here is a pic of one at the dealer in Niagara falls CA. Unless the sun is out it doesn't do it justice . We have a black granite Malibu and when the sun hits it you can see a grayish black with tons of flake.

this is what it looks like up close ..... this is a blk granite met. spoiler off a SS

There are some good pic's from Dmac's COTM sub..... https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/feat...-d-mac-237417/

I really don't care for sunroofs ...... I've had my share of them and quite a few rattle ...and with the Cobalt's the button's were always falling apart . Plus in my opinion the roof line seems sleeker without them....... but thats just my personal preference and I might be an odd ball about it lol. I guess I just figured I'd never use it and its one more thing to break .

We have one in the family hauler and it's been open twice .... both times people have complained about it hurting their ears lol.

If I would have known it was a Canada only option I think I would have went for it instead of my crystal red. But than again I really like red..... maybe would have had to flip a coin. Oh well, still love my SS.

Why did they make the RPD without a Vacuum gauge? A vacuum gauge is pretty damn important to a turbo car that can develop vacuum leaks . Plus a vacuum gauge can tell u a lot about how an engine is running or the condition it's in .

IMHO it a big FAIL on GM's part ...... I wanted an RPD until i found this out .

I think if you look at something like CudaJoe's yellow sedan - 1 of 16, that's rare by any standard.

Otherwise, I guess it's how you define rare. Ferrari FXX rare? No, the Cobalt SS/TC is far more common than that, but there were 2535 Cobalt SS sold in 2009 - coupes and sedans combined.

Nissan sold 2597 GTRs in 2009, so if 2009 Cobalt SS are "common" so are Nissan GTRs

I sure see a fair amount on the Beltway here in Houston, and one the other day on a flatbed.

There was a little kid w/ his Mom in a SUV, and the kid was slack jawed pointing at it.

Smart kid for knowing his cars !

I wonder if he can tell what kind of car it is going by from the sound of the exhaust ...

(think old Camaro Z28 TV commercials)
