When that day comes, contact John Powell. He's a vendor on here or you can contact him at john@powellraceparts.com
I've spent many hours as a passenger sideways in a 370hp-440hp Silvia (this car was always in build mode so it differed) so I know the beast this car will feel like, I drove the Silvia myself on some nice patches of highway (very low ride) a few times and the pull your face off boost is just incredible.
This car is a hobby to me and it costs what ever it costs. I'm paying off the car now so I'm not dropping a ton on it yet but I'd like to have a plan of what I can be doing now and what I need for later.
Why do you recommend hp?

With HP tuners you can pick your own tuner, whether local or remote. If you buy HPT yourself you can make adjustments to the tune whenever you want. With Trifecta you're married to Vince who's tuning skills have been questioned and who's availability appears to be spotty. On top of that he locks his tunes so there's no way to change or tweak them.

go with an hpt... the problem with tirfecta is vince isnt that good of a tuner. hes an amazing programmer and can figure out just about anything code related but his tuning is meh and his availability sucks. if u ever need to re flash your car you need his file to do so before you can flash with hpt
Before I bought my car I learned what I could about cobalts, particularly modded ones and I've seen enough builds to know 400+ its not an unrealistic goal. I'm not sure yet about how much I'll actually achieve on pump gas but we'll see.

Being fwd has actually worried me a little bit but I'm absolutely not against getting to 350hp or what ever it may be and finding that I don't want any more power then that but at the same time while I work in this build I want to know that anything I instal can be built onto for more gains without having to take off parts previously put on by me. So starting with a higher goal just lets me get what ever power I'm going to get out of it without redoing anything unnecessary.

we offer a trans program as well.

We had a program developing transmissions for the srt4 and we transferred it over to the f35. Unlike Rudy our srt4 transmissions have been proved so we hope to see it in our f35s
Does that mean it's still a new program?
Nope. We currently are building them to order. The technology has been proven on our srt transmissions so we transfered over what we know works already.I should of worded what I said a bit differently. if enough demand comes we will develops certain gears that are weak links but there isn't enough demand yet and its a costly process to embark on
Oh, man. I have a BS in Industrial Eng Tech and can tell you that it is more boring than difficult to learn to tune. If you like it and have some education, it isn't so bad, with the help of the HPT forum. It just bored me to absolute death. I'd rather pay someone.
Revved mine to 7400 for 36K miles no issues ever motor has twice the miles now never been apart and still on the original turbo. Also done many others on stock valve train that high and not one has had an issue. I have seen more break lash adjusters by slamming into even a stock GMS1 limiter. The high limiter means less likely to slam into it when spinning and IMHO it is slamming into the limiter than seems to break things.
And yet none of the cars I have tuned to rev to 7400 have broken a lash adjuster or anything else. I had one I tuned with a 6500 rpm limiter break one after he slammed the limiter though.
I will have to respectfully disagree with revving to 7400 on the stock valvetrain my man.
