HP + Trifecta?
HP + Trifecta?
what are the beenfits of the HP+trifecta tune, i already have the trifecta tune at 26psi but my cold pipe is causing issues with it so im only holding at 22psi until i can get another pipe. or get a boost leak test done and figure out if i have a leak some where.
hoping BYT chimes in

It just allows you to have some of the cool TF options plus a custom tune by someone other then Vince. The differences aren't HUGE but they do open up a lot of flexibilty when tuning with HPT. The boost control is worlds better with the combo tune and the drivability is better as well all around IMHO.
This is just my opinion:
When tuning for Meth, Vince will not run any leaner then the .83 STILL. Which IMHO, is not going to gain a lot. The beauty of Meth Injection is the ability to run leaner with stronger timing while supressing KR the whole time. Thats how you make power with it, not JUST by injecting it (which does add a lil power on its own).

hmm so if i already have a trifecta tune how much would it cost me to add HP to it orrr
does it matter that i already had a HP tune first then i got trifecta so are they both still there or is one deleted

There isn't anything "hiding" there from before. Each flash wipes the old and replaces with the new.
Pricing will vary depending on who is tuning your car. Check with your tuner for pricing info.

If you already have a trifecta tune, switching over to HPT+trifecta will completely wipe out your tune, and you'll have to be retuned by someone with HPT.
I never really hear anyone talk about this, so you should also know that HPT+trifecta also have dual-tune capability!
Your HP tuner tunes your "stock" tune to perfection, sends it off to Vince, and has him embed it into a dual-tune OS for you. The file that is sent back to you has your "stock" tune embedded in it, and now when you access it with HPT, you can tune your "performance" tune.
The result is two HPT-tuned tunes in one PCM, switchable via the cruise or traction control button. Really amazing stuff.

I have the combo with a dual tune and I have never sent Vince a single piece of tune info. The "stock" mode just sets the Boost to the stock amount. The MAF tuning is all the same no matter which tune mode is active. Furthermore...the PE and Rev Limit will remain the same whether in tune or stock modes. So it isn't 100% stock mode, just for FYI sake.
Well I put "stock" in quotes to indicate its NOT 100% stock. What I should have said was "Tune 1". In that case, you would have to send vince the hpt file so he can flash it to his bench pcm, read back the binary and mod it. Either that or have him just change it to the desired boost amount for you.
Ive never sent Vince a thing. He has the stock and GMS1 files already, he doesn't need me or anybody to send him a thing.
When he sends a layered file, it has whatever options you want hard set and then he can put the tune select on whichever button and whichever condition you like. He loads the first tune, you can make this stock, gms1, TF Base Tune, TF Infiniboost etc.. whatever you like. Then when you tune with HPT it will flash the file to the remaining "tune slot" and all the hardcoded stuff remains there. For either tune mode, the MAF tuning remains whatever you tuned it to with HPT and the rev limit is also something that is hard set. The only things different are the amount of boost and the timing may be stock (I never noticed if it actually was lol)

yea so when we sent him my datalogs he said my timing was off probably because of my maf reloc and my car was running a lil rich and i needed to get my maf checked but i cleaned the maf and it still spikes at 22psi so i dont know whats wrong. im suppose to spike at 26 so im losing power
Please re-read my previous reply. By "stock", I meant "Tune 1" i.e. - NOT stock or GMS1 or any other predefined setting, rather something that the user would cook up themselves in HPT. If it is user-created, there would be no way for vince to access it without the user sending it to him. Does that make sense?
I get what you are saying 100% though.

Performance Autowerks is in Plainfield if that's better but IDK if Matt has the combo tune stuff yet.
I'm about 15 miles south of Valparaiso, IN. Whoever does it has to get the base file from TF for your ECU, then load a HP Tune on top of it and tweak/log from there.
