I believe we have a problem Houston.....
So..........
Had to drive the Balt today, since my company vehicle was in for service this morning, and we got issues. I noticed on my way to work this morning it seemed sluggish spooling, even just 3psi with normal driving seemed slow. After leaving the office, I stepped into the throttle a bit just to see what it wanted to do, and it only hit 19psi, the tune is set for 25.
Once I got home I pulled the upper charge pipe coupler at the turbo, and found a nice metal impregnated sludge lining it.
Needless to say I think we have a bearing issue. Not bad, I managed to destroy a new product in less than 1 year with just over 10k on the turbo, of which 6-7k was spent just cruising at 80 on the highway before I got the company vehicle.
Already contacted ZZP, awaiting an answer.

Welp, got my answer, no warranty. Ryan emailed Matt since he handles them and I was told 25psi is too much for that turbo, they usually run 22-23 max.
So now the dilema, **** a few hundo to rebuild it, and then some to get the same power I was just at, or throw it in the trash and buy a WR-3. Decisions decisions........

My point exactly. I mean don't get me wrong I didn't expect it to live forever, but if running 25psi was considered too much there should have been a disclaimer on the page to avoid said boost levels. I sent an email back asking why info like that wasn't on the page if that was the case. I even said I wasn't knocking them, just wanted to know. But I haven't heard back, and probably won't tonight. I'll keep this updated as I go along and decide/see what to do.

Still communicating with ZZP, so it's not a definitive no yet.
I'm under the impression they are assembling the center sections in house, as I don't know anyone else who has a non ball bearing EFR series turbo available.

Wow this is surprising. How can you say this turbo makes 480hp as a selling feature then not warranty it when people try to do so?

Come to think of it how can a 54mm turbo not supply a 2L engine with 25psi when our stock k04 can run 24 to 25 for years? The shaft speed on the Z54 would be way lower than the K04 but it can't last at that boost?

There is no way they can claim that it supports 480hp, and then suggest that when something goes sideways that they are not meant for more than "22-23psi" - I'd wager the 480hp pull was with more than 23psi.
I have been contemplating one of these, but I guess I have my answer right here...
