I'm Finished w/the Turbo
I'm Finished w/the Turbo
You won't be hearing from me any longer. I was supposed to pickup my Turbo Wednesday night, but we went to the dealer , the car was prepped and ready and all the paperwork was in order. The tags were on the salespersons desk. The car was beautiful. I have been working for 2 months between proding the dealer and reading info on this website to try and get my hands on the Turbo. Finally it was up to me to find one that had been delivered to a dealer somewhere in the tri-state area. I was trying to make the best of the June 2nd deadline on the incentives. I found one - just what I wanted - and the dealer transferred it here. And by the way, any of you who got the 0% 60 months financing stand a good chance of having it recended. IT DOES NOT apply to the Turbo- final answer. Anyway I took the new Turbo for a test drive before signing the dotted line and the Turbo began acting up almost immediately. It worked intermittently and finally the check engine light came on and the car drove sluggishly back to the dealer. They have been working on it since then and can't figure out why it won't work. The Turbo won't activate. So, it was disappointing to say the least Wednesday night, but today I felt I had to pass on the car. Its still not repaired and I don't want any parts of a car with major quality defects. I think I am finished with car buying for a while.
I don't understand what you mean by the turbo won't activate. I don't know a lot about this particular turbo, but the turbos on all my diesels have all had no choice but to activate. The exhaust gas turns them. Perhaps your wastegate is stuck open or something silly like that
I've never heard of a stuck wastegate. Wouldn't that be easy to diagnose and fix? I'd say its more serious than that. I guess its to be expected with first runs. Always glitches to fix.
And Memphis, the sig reminded me of one of the funniest moments in Unreal 2. "The few. The proud. AND THEY AIN'T HERE!".

You're thinking about the wrong Subie, the good one has the 6-speed too.
Well, you're talking about a car that the dealer hasn't seen. They had to come ask ME how to change the oil the first time I took my SS/SC in. And I told them they were retards becasue it was my first oil change. So I went out there and had to figure it out for them.

I bet it is the high pressure hose going to the turbo that has too big of a clamp on it letting out vacuum making the turbo not work, jeee that is why they put a batch hold on it, bet it got past their "quality inspection". But ohh well mine works great and i am happy.
