You can buy both individually and they are non dependant of one another ..

You can have stock shifter and TWM bushings

But the best choice is obviously to have the STS and the bushings

Since this thread has been*revived* it caught my attention. Never thought of just installing the base bushings with stock shifter. Anyone else here do it? How does it feel..looks easy to install.

It works perfect with stock shifter and gets rid of that extra little bit of rubbery feel you get at the end of a shift into a gear. Makes it a nice solid shift and helps if you NLS.

I see that you have a tune to 24 psi from trifecta...I am interested in getting a tune, a real one, as I have GMS1 right now...but my question is how long you used, or if you are still using, the stock clutch with all that power. I've heard of people using the stock clutch with lots of power, but just wanted to hear from someone who actually has a good tune.

I have HPT tune (more HP than GM1) with stock clutch. No problems. The stock clutch is good for around 350 Ft Lbs Torque, which the Trifecta and HPT tunes don't exceed.

I have their shifter bushing and short throw adaptor. It fells great. Nice and firm.
Very little play. Throws are nice and short. And you can really feel the syncro's. Makes the stock shifter seem like it was shifting through mush.

Ive been tuned since last year at about 5k. I had an HPT tune that was great but it had too much power below the curve and the clutch definitely felt it. There was noticeable slip. I then wanted a dual tune so I wasnt driving in the all out tune all the time and thats when I got the trifecta tune at the beginning of this year. My clutch does not slip at all. The power comes on smooth and the boost builds through the RPM range, so no more slippage. I now drive around in the GMS1 tune and switch over to the 24psi when I need it

The bushings make a nice difference they dont allow the shift assembly the play the rubber ones did. That with the TWM sts makes a night and day difference. And the twm standard metal ball shift knob has never burned me.

I exceed it, i have the trifecta/hp tuner combo tune. 424ftlbs at the wheels. Not the stock clutch though, it'd prolly go boom!

well the closest, and easiest for me, is an HP Tuners dealer that's only about 15 minutes away. They use a dyno to tune it, so not road-logging necesary, I'm thinking a milder tune, maybe to 22 psi. I just want to make the most of my car in it's current setup. I thought I had heard that the stock clutch was good to about 350 lb-ft of torque...but is that at the wheel? If so I'll be aiming for about 340-350 at the wheel and just driving carefully.

But on a different note, that is actually related to the thread, I like the idea of the genuinesaab sts and bushings combo. Any pics from those who already have this installed?

Its all about how you drive it. When I dyno'd I was making anywhere from 369-384ftlbs and was peaking in the 3900-4300 area. In second gear I get no clutch slip cause the tires break loose. If I start in third at like 60 I get just a little when I first hit it then it grabs(if I roll into the throttle it doesnt slip hardly at all)

By what margin? I have HTP and got a peak of 363 Ft Lbs, but you're not seeing that a majority of the time. I guess it depends what you're doing..a lot of drag racing..then may be on the ragged edge. My stock clutch has been holding up very well. Zero slip.

Byt just tuned a pretty much stock tc to over 350 tq at the recent synapse cobalt dyno day. 350wheel tq these days is pretty easy to eclipse with an agressive tune, hence the reason I have my CM clutch installed

I have never had mine dynoed but I would be willing to bet I am over 350wheel tq.

but as we know dyno numbers are just that numbers, it is what it is.

but back on topic, I ordered my bushings this weekend also
