Interest in bluetooth retrofit kit for 09/08's and possibly 07's?
I've created the only retrofit kit for the 08/09 G8's that didnt have it that allows 100% factory integration (plug and play) for those vehicles and someone asked me if I could do this for the cobalt/G5 and the answer appears to be yes. That said do you guys think there is enough interest to develop this? I'm not here to sell anything as there isnt anything to sell just curious if its worth my time to invest anything in these kits or not.
I'd think that there would be quite a bit of interest. There has been countless threads on whether or not this is possible so i'm sure people are still looking; I'd buy one if the price was right. What would this whole "kit" consist of?

Well on the G8 the kits we make are a new specially programmed VCIM and BT antenna. If there is an 08 Cobalt in Michigan that would like to test this it would make life alot easier!

More than likely no, sorry.
Actually I take that back I just did some digging and I MIGHT be able to get this to work all the way back to 2006. I need someone in michigan with a Balt with steering wheel controls to test this out for me, any takers?

Ok lets see if you guys can help me remotely, you must have these two things:
-On Star (doesnt have to be activated)
-Steering Wheel Controls
If you have these items, do this test for me and report:
If you hold the mute "guy talking" button (the big one on the right hand spoke) down long enough does the onstar system turn on and say onstar ready?

Hold on, I'll test it right now
Held the mute button down for about 3 seconds and it prompted for me to say a phone number to dial. Pressed the mute button again and it thanked me and went back to the radio.
I have an 08 TC with onstar, but it is not activated. It expired a few months ago.

The kit for the G8 sells for $449; plug in ready to go. I understand that this market may not bear that pricing given economies of scale. That said retail on JUST the new onstar module (if you could actually get them) is $350 + $30 for the antenna and I normally charge $100 for the special programming.
If I can pull this off and get sponsorship here ect I'll make a hell of a presale on these for you guys though. The OEM bluetooth is by far the best solution I've ever seen I'm sure those of you who have it will agree.

Heh, someone can have my 09 OnStar VCM cheap if you want it
It's sitting on a shelf in my basement. I disabled all of that with a quickness.
Perhaps you could get GTPrix to hook you up slightly cheaper with that in hand. Someone with a non-bluetooth w/sunroof headliner could trade me too.

Ok I verified this mod works on a 2009 without BT now just need to test on an 08 which it sounds like I've got some testers
After that I need to bother someone about sponsorship
