Awesome news!!!!
I have always wished that I got the SS/sc since I got my balt, and now is my chance to have a SS/TC. I guess I'll have to just trade it in. No more mods for me!!

I used to sell cars and knowing GM this car will definately be in the mid 22 to 23,000 dollar range, they want to compete with the Mazdaspeed3 and the new f`ugly SRT Caliber. This new lnf Cobalt will be sweet, no more modding for me.......screw the whole full exhaust mod im getting that masterchief 360 edition lol!!!

Interesting news I must say; I just hope that after disappearing from the line-up that when the SS comes back, only the TC version will be an SS and the 2.4L will be an RS. I get tired of hearing SS/SC. I don't hear people having to say SRT4 turbo, b/c we all know that it's there. New Cobalt SS = has a turbo. Now they may want to badge and say TURBO everywhich way to get the message across and differentiate b/n SC and TC; but for those of us that really know the cars and really care, we will know.

probably the most credible "turbo cobalt" thread to date.
seeing as though the maro and G8 will be on the plate around that time though.
theres not a chance in hell id be stupid enough to buy another FWD.

haha yup you know it... i heard a knock so i let myself in
plus it's the truth ya know? stage 3 should be an 11 second car if not stage 2, a good turbo swap, full bolt ons, turbo timer, and massive tuning will make this car an easy beast
i wonder if the tail lights changed.. hmm you guys can ask the ls2 GTO's after you throw on your hazards

Any word yet on the transmissions? I'd love to see them offer something other than just five speed manuals. The Getrag transmission already in the SS/SCs are only rated up to 240hp.

EVO X = 3500lbs / 300 = 11.66
08 SS = 2971 / 260 = 11.42
Looks like a driver's race to me. And let's not forget that the EVO uses the exact engine in the SRT4 and the SRT4 engine is putting out 315 at the crank.

is he a supporting vendor?

Aparently the F35 and the F40 will be the only offered transmissions. I am sure the F35 will be upgraded a bit.
