Just Bought!!!

i just bought the Cobalt 09 turbocharged. Im trading in my G5 GT for it. Got a decent deal on it and im only paying an extra 60$ a month between payments and insurence. Test Drove it today and im highly satisfied with its 0-60. Amazing when you go from a 2.4 to a turbo. Ill definately need time to get used to it lol. Upside is that it comes with the 18" wheels instead of the 17"s i got. Any cheap performance mods recomended for starters? For now im getting the NGK spark plugs from napa where i work and im thinkin about methonol injection or a cat back or something.

I hear with an intake you can hear the turbo a lot more. If it were me, I'd do an intake and aftermarket blowoff valve...then wait for the gm stage kits ; ]

congrats on the new ride btw!

just get a tune.. every1 on here says that a tune alone will put u over 300hp. n also putting any performance mods on there will not do a damn unless u get a tune for it.

You consider plugs your first mod? Why would you even consider meth without a tune? Do you even know what meth would do without a tune for it?

You don't need the spark plugs, I think I've heard that they are already NGK's.

Tune from Trifecta should be the first mod for anyone with an SS/TC. That or order an intake or DP and then get it tuned right after, but if you're looking for just one cheap mod for now get the tune.

Since you are on the east coast there are a couple of tuners around. I would honestly recommend a tune from Tunetimeperformance.com Matt is the owner and does great work. As far as bolt ons i only have an intake and im waiting on a down pipe. thats about all the mods im gunna do. maybe charge piping in the future

intake and tune...downpipe if youd like...but the first two will give you the sound and the speed to back it up.

im gonna go with the Hahn Ram/Cool Air intake. It says gains of upto 29HP. I herd that there is a GM tune for it. Id rather get that since it maintains your warranty. As for you slowswap your an idiot i said nothing about getting a meth kit without tuning. I just mentioned that i might go that rout. Learn how to read more carefully lol.

Congrats on the purchase! As for the mods I would do a tune(trifecta or psychosteve if you have access to hp tuners) and air intake first. I wouldn't hold your breath on the GM tune package as the Performance Division is up in the air right now.

He's a moron. I know him in person. He installed a $1200 nitrous setup on his 2.4 G5 so he could use his colored purge.

its ok i realize his jelousy lol. And slowswap get your facts streight lol. It was 1646 lol and i got every penny of my money back i disputed the charge. and tomarrow im returning it to them. You can say all you want but im just going to laugh at you because your head looks like the shape of a triangle you alien. LMFAO. Anyways i sent an email to the trifecta tuning site and asked how i could obtain one of there tunes because there ist a dealer that im aware of around here. If i tune the car first and then put the intake on do i have to retune it again. or should i slap the air intake on and then tune. And safely how much boost can i run on that motor stock. I just want an idea of how crazy i can go with the stock motor and stock turbo

Be the bigger man and walk away.

To the original poster, do not exceed 23psi, I HEAR that is the maximum the turbo can run somewhat safely.

you cant exceed 23psi even if you wanted to for more than a second of 2 or the car will go into limp mode...When you buy the tune you will probably be boosting 22psi already. You can put an intake on it first it doesnt matter. But until you buy the tune all you will get is sound from the intake...which is probably worth the money anyways.
