K&N Drop-in Filter

Anyone running one untuned?
I'm considering buying one soon. Any issues with drivability? Also, does it alter the sound of the turbo (i.e. louder)?

Everything you want to know about intakes, drop in filters and airbox mods.

It will not be noticeably louder with the drop in filter.

I have the drop in and i have no problems. The other day the car choked for a second but I believe it wasnt related to the filter. The filter makes the motor/ exhaust sound louder. Not so sure the turbo spool became louder or not.

I put a k&n drop in, in the other day along with charge pipes and I'm fully stock. Like Term2's thread, Id say either run just a drop in w/ stock or gm stage 1 or if you are tuned then a intake.

the sc/ss isnt as sensitive as the tc/ss but ya they shouldn't cause a issue unless they are over oiled.

I have the drop in, in my TC fopr about the last 10,000 miles no issue. I cant say it changed much or made the turbo louder. Though I dont regret getting it.

I have one and it didn't make as dramatic of a difference as many would say, but I did notice it made my stock air box a little bit louder because of the increased air flow.

ya it was tiny bit louder, the charge piping really makes a noise difference though.

Interesting. I might have to look into that. I'm tired of not being able to hear my turbo. haha
