Ok, issues resolved. The scanner was just my obd 2 being loose. And IAB summed up the rest. Just kind of annoying when it does it all the time lol

But man does it scream on wot, I cant get over how loud it is.

I love my K&N but get a hydro shield cover for the filter, water can make it's way to the filter from a carwash or driving in the rain. I got a clip of the sound mine makes by accident while working on another project.

Here is the link

Yep, my car came with an RPD but I wanted to add the boost gauge. What's special about the whistle?

I love my K/n. But to be completely honest, i had the Hahn before it, and it was a good piece also. When BYT went to retune me, the MAF tables were dead on between the too, so there was little to no adjusting.

The only difference is with the K/n you get the panda sneeze, and the hahn you got a crisper sound. But fitment on the K/N is much better.

Where the heck can I get an RPD? I thought that was the bomb, and I'd replace the ho-hum gauge in mine just for the bling factor.

Here's a funny one, I was accelerating on a two-lane merge onto a highway the other day, and I let out one of those "panda sneezes" right next to this lady who was daydreaming in the lane next to me, with her window open. Saw her jump - sneeze scared the pee out of her.

Finally moding

I've had mine for just over the three year mark and finally started aftermarket work. The K&N filter was the first, and I just got that one last Saturday. I wasn't expecting the sneezes and thought I installed something wrong... but I love it. Great first step!

$204 - FREE SHIPPING FROM AUTOANYTHING!!!

I called customer service @ Autoanything. Told them that Ultrarev.com K&N Performance Intake - 69 Series Typhoon Intake Kit (CCA) - UltraRev.com - Part# 69-4518TTK had this intake for $214.71 with free shipping. They said they will match that price AND beat it by $10 Intake ships directly from K&N and should be delivered Monday with the free shipping! Hope this helps everyone!

Update: I think the whistle was from a leaky charge pipe. I replaced the oem lower pipe with the hahn lower pipe a couple weeks ago and no more whistle plus got an extra 1psi boost! I figure the GM tech must have removed it when he installed the sensor for GMS1 and did not tighten it when he put it back. Whistle might be from my turbo over spooling.

I've had my K&N installed for a few days now, and I'm not sure if something is wrong or not. Let me know what you think:

I have a the performance display. When I first bought the car the torque/horsepower meter showed pretty much the factory quoted 260 lb/tq. I installed the sbi and, although it sounds a lot better, I'm not sure it's faster... in fact, it kind of feels slower. So, I checked out the display again and it is noticeably less, around 220-240 lb/tq tops, at not at the lower RPMs like it used to be. The HP only reaches 200 tops. I obviously don't want to be slower than I was before, even if the sound makes me grin the entire drive.

What position did you install the filter? Because of the offset outlet, the filter position can affect the fuel trims. There are other posts discussing it. K&N dyno'd gains, they claim over stock but i'm not sure if that car had the GMS1.

I read the other posts on the K&N and put it at the 12:30 mark, making the K&N symbol upside down... which kinda made me sad. Oh well.

Def get the GMS1 at a minimum - you're not going to gain without it.
