Ky clutch owners!!!
I had My ky clutch put in last night, and when i release the clutch it kinda shakes a bit and then grabs. i have 54 miles on it. the pedal feels softer and its harder to feel the clutch is this normal? also it has slipped twice, i get to about ten pounds of boost and it slips, i know it isnt broken in yet but is clutch slippage normal during break in period?
#1 don't get into boost again until it's broke in. there's a break-in period for reason.
#2 odds are your clutch isn't fully bled, vacuum bleeding didn't work for me so I pressure bled it.
#3 that shaking is chatter, not gonna go away.

The pedal was really soft for me as well at first. Much better now at 1300 miles. What worries me is that it still isnt holding yet. At 90% throttle you can feel it shudder a little when it tries to grab and then it slips. If you have the kevlar/ceramic setup..Don't let the clutch slip too much or you might end up glazing it.

the shaking is chatter, it's normal with puck clutches.
after 1300 miles and it still doesn't grab it's toast.
I put through 3-400 miles of stop and go cruising and it's never slipped, taking 24psi every day no issues with 8k miles. I just don't like the high engagement height.

Well that's a bummer if true. It has progressively gotten better from the 900-1300 mile mark. Went from holding at 70% to 90% throttle. Im gonna give it a couple hundred more miles, be more aggressive in my driving. And write it off as a loss if no improvement. Doesnt kevlar require a longer break in period?
Just spoke with a guy from ky clutch. Apparently I haven't been aggressive enough. He said when the clutch stutters (attempting to grab) then slips, i should just let it slip some then roll back on the throttle till it grabs. Ive been immediately pushing the clutch in when I felt it slipping. It's pretty cool that they are willing to give me a replacement if this doesn't work out. No hassles great customer service.

The chatter is pretty common on new pucked clutches. My CM clutch is getting better as the mileage goes up.
Like what has been stated aleady...dont beat on it and make sure its properly bled.

Who knows, mine failed. It was having some slipping issues. When it was sent back to ky they said the self adjusting pressure plate malfunctioned. It took about a week to fail. Broken in properly. Of course they did not refund the labor cost.. or the second labor cost the shop discounted me for... or the tow charge.. or the rental car.... next time I will just save the money and go ZZP.
edit, I forgot, the failing clutch chattered when it was pushed in, not released, but pressed to the floor, kinda like a ticking sound. The new clutch from them doesn't have this chatter.

Lmfao.... Issues u all are having are one. ... User error.......... Two most issues people have are with the ceramic kevlar because who get them decide to boost and get into it. The pressure plate issue was resolved. First off to the person who based ky clutch because they didn't refund u money back for the install. Stfu.. Is it there fault you don't know how to work on your car. Two most if they replaced Ure clutch for free Stfu because they have a warranty..... My clutch held great now Im just waiting on another clutch setup so i can make more power. The noise on the.clutch is normal..i did a total of 500-700miles before i complelty got on it..... ....the pressure plate the people received with there ky clutch is a gm pressure plate.......thru friction disc is a custom made disc. If you guys are worried about holding power get a ceramic ceramic.. Cuz if kevlar gets glazed its done for..........
My ky clutch was loud i have had every single brand out there. If anyone's worried about there clutch call ky clutch and talk to Chris since he is the clutch guru lol. The issue is not the clutch most of the time its all user error....
i mean how can a clutch be properly broke in within a week. ......... Just cruising doesn't break it in......... Stop and goes some cruising not just cruising by itself......

like i said i'm still learning and everyone tells me the noise is normal but i have no engagement or slipping issues with the clutch and i did fully break it in, i work downtown so i did my stop and go traffic lol
