little TOO loud...

alright, so my last thread I asked for making my car really loud and I went with the 3 inch catless dp with my muffler delete and wow is it ever loud. It's starting to become too loud and my neighbors hate when I come home at 2am from parties and such so I am looking for a way to not necessarily make my exhaust less loud just a better loud. I was thinking of putting on a performance muffler, ya?

I'd never be one to take my muffler off. Makes highway driving kinda shitty.

I have ZZPs cat back no resonator and muffler. It's not super loud but ppl are surprised its sounds so good for a 4 cylinder. I'm also catted DP though so there is more noise to be had if I wanted.

I'll try and make a sound clip in the next day or two.

I'm running the same setup currently. I agree sometimes I think that even just catless is too loud. Can't imagine having a muffler delete or even a straight pipe. When I upgrade to a 3" catback it will definitely have the muffler and resonator.

straight pipe sounds horrible, but catless with stock resonator and muffler delete sounds good..my car is just as loud with a catted downpipe, but it just has less turbo sound and is a little deeper...
long story short, keep the resonator on....

I have the exact same set up and don't find it loud at all until you break vacuum.

they have an option with a resonator, the FL CBE, that is a lot quieter, but still makes an amazing sound. with backfires and gurgles burps w.e you call em lol

If you want Turbo XS (good choice) contact Stephanie in Sales to get a better shipping rate than TTR.

She will ship via USPS/Canada Post and reflect OEM cost in the price for shipping across the boarder. That way less duty and taxes.

If you're in Ontario like me, I recommend you go to Hot Rod Scot's over at Kipling and Norseman. Right outside Toronto. They do awesome exhaust work for cheap. Another option is the guys I use called Master Performance in Brampton. It's on Dixie rd south of queen but north of steeles on the west side. They are pricier but do amazing work that is top shelf stuff. They tig weld all their custom exhausts and it looks perfect when they are done.

the 3" straight pipe is only loud at part throttle it seems... 3" catless downpipe and zzp muffler delete exhaust here and its WAY quieter than my buddies procharged vette with B&B Bullets.

this may or may not work out for you. TTR may charge more for shipping but TXS has a lil higher price.

if i were you i would get a quote from both of them on the Turbo XS FL CBE.

Put the stock muffler back on. You're not gaining any power by deleting it, or going to a 3" exhaust anyways. It's all just for sound. If you get an exhaust with a resonator and muffler, you should be ok.

i have the exact same setup. when the engine is cold, jump on it a little
bit (in first while driving down the road) wow you can shatter windows.
it will only do it totally cold and for the first 20-30 seconds of running though.
i would never floor it and risk damaging the engine. you just need to get on it a
little bit. OMG it is absolutely incredibly loud. might be all that extra fuel its dumping
when its cold. try it once.
