Looking into buying a SS/TC

How are you guys doing! Ive been trying to find a 08-10 Cobalt ss/tc sedan or coupe. Test drove a black sedan the other day liked it alot. I have a 2010 Ms3 with a few bolt-ons. I would be trading in my Fiance Ms3s which is also a 2010.(reason why for a down grade to save money and to have it paid off in a year) Not a down grade in performance though. Hopefully ill have one in the next coming weeks.

Im not new to the Cobalt ss the finace had a 05 ss/sc stage 2 tuned by SMG in MA a couple years ago. Hope I can find one not over priced around here. Also if any is interest in the Ms3(mine) it has cobb intake,Cp-e Topmount intercooler,Forge bpv,Turbo xs catless dp+tp,Corksport 3inch exhaust,Cobb Ap(custom e-tune), KMD fuelpump internals, Eibach springs,Sure Rear MM. Made 300hp-346tq at SMG(dynojet).

Thanks

Jimmy

Oh yea I am I liked the sedan even the price was good 15,400 with 22k but he wouldnt give us much for the MS3 16500 for it and its fully loaded with 20k on it. We are only a 1000 off from making a deal but he was a douche. The only other TC/SS around is a yellow coupe and its 19k(which people got their ss/tc just about new at that price).

Unless you're just stuck with FWD turbo cars i'd seriously look into a C5 coupe... the same or better gas mileage and better performance all around... i really wish i had gone the C5Z route instead of a SS/TC

new SS/TC was 24500 btw...

many did get them new for under 20k though..i wouldnt spend 17-18k for a used one unless its a 2010 in perfect condition w/ low mileage

Yea I know the base price and what not but back when you could buy them new they offered incentives and money off. My buddys gf bought hers new for 20k didnt mean to say i could get a brand new one for 19 just kindof close to new price for being 3 years old.

dealer would only give you 15600? geez where is that dealer at? i'll pick up your car :P you got tons of mods and im sure with the intake and stuff your turbo spools up nice. i would of picked ms3 over ss/tc cause the interior looks alot better. and you already got tons of money invested in it. How much are you paying a month for the ms3? just curious.

i seen used TCs for like 15kish. most you might get is like 18 for the ms3 so if you return it to stock u can resell your mods and make money off that to mod the TC.

$340 a month. Wouldnt be trading in mine(which has all the mods) We would be trading in hers. She has a intake/bpv/exhaust/springs. With the money i make off mods from the 3 ill put towards the cobalt so hopefully get around 4-500$+ alittle extra cash i have. Most likely will do a Intake and get a tune from SMG. Depending how much i get ill get a dp as well. Just want between 300-315hp area.

Ive tuned abunch of those cars down here through access tuner. They rip! Whats funny is I have a group of cobalt guys ive tuned that all are friends and a group of MS3 guys that are all friends. They go back and forth on who is faster. It never ends... lol They are a little heavier but with a 50/50 mix they are very competative with a bolt on cobalt with a gas tune. I love the options yall have for boost and timing and fuel control. In my opinion its better than HPtuners in a few ways.

Yea can't go wrong with either car. The ms3 interior i like alot but the cobalt's performance is pretty spot on for a sport compact car. Stock forum they are both about even.

Is this really about saving money bro?

I'd say stick with what you have. It's already modded out and as people have been saying the two cars are almost the same. I don't see how you're not losing cash trading in to the dealership, they always make a profit.

I have 2 speed 3s. Both 2010s one we owe less than 10k so we are trying to get 2-3k less than that+ her ms3 has had a few issues. Mine is staying where it is. The one with all the mods isnt going anywhere lol

I'm looking to have someone just pay off my loan. I've been unemployed for 2 years.

The add is a year old but I updated it at the end, please read the whole thing.

OP: just stick with what you have. I don't think you'll be gaining much by buying a car that will have less resale value.

Yea that's another thing I've been thinking about I want to buy something rwd but she's all for the cobalt haha. If I had it my way I would be buying a camaro Ss or 5.0 but in new England a rwd car is a 2-3 season car, and Sti/Evo are too much even used

I live in Lynn as well, I think I've seen your MS3 around, is it the turquoise one (or teal?) I've seen that one around lynn a lot mainly near the resevoir. I'm the black SS/TC with the highrise. We should meet up!
