Mod plans??

I have a 09 Cobalt SS and I have Injen air intake and Pressure Piping installed. I think the next mod should be an exhaust because im getting backfire from stock exhaust. I am trying to keep warranty and do small mods to increase power. What does everyone else suggest?

Def a tune. GMS1 if you are concerned about warranty

downpipe no qustions asked because its the most restrictive part of the exhaust. the stock catback actually flows pretty decently. if it was me i would save a little extra cash and just do a full exhaust. personally i would go with hp tuners or trifecta to get the best power gains. if your concerned about your warrenty then gms1 but i really dont see it being worth the money.

GMS1/LNF Power Upgrade and a Clear Image Catless Downpipe, save your factory downpipe for emissions inspection, it takes all of 10 minutes to put on/take off if you have a lift. I have that exact setup and I love it. I wasn't expecting as much power as I got and I still have my warranty. Totally worth the money. If you buy the GMS1/LNF Power Upgrade get it from gmpartsdirect.com, that's where it's cheapest.

TWM Short Shifter - awaiting delivery

Trifecta Tune - keep talking myself into and then back out of purchasing (custom HP tunes are great too)

Downpipe - for reasons mentioned in above posts. but not sure who to go with yet

OTTP Stage 2 Rotated Trans Mounts - because wheel hop is for suckas

Intake - so many choices...

Your probly not gonna get rid of the backfire. If you ride out first gear to long you will get a pop. Try shifting around 2k-2500 rpms in first and second. I find that if I stay in 1st past 3k rpms while casually accelerating it will backfire when I shift sometimes

Since you want to keep the warranty id do:
GMS1
Catless downpipe

sometimes dealers install the parts for you....well if the car gets screwed up from their install i would think they would have to fix it.

Ya but the truth of the matter is that if something breaks that surpasses that certain dollar amount that the dealers are willing to eat the first thing theyre gonna do it throw the "abuse" flag onto the field. Reguardless of whether you have GMS1 or other aftermarket items. By theyre standards almost everything is abuse. You took the engine past 4k rpms:abuse, you were traveling over 65mph:abuse, you used nls:abuse...lol

Ok Thanks everyone. I think im just going to spend the extra money and go with the Hahn Downpipe with high flow cat, and the MPx Exhaust because i may lower my car in the future.

TWM (plus bushings) installed and shift cables adjusted. Holy hell it feels like I'm shifting a different car. Totally worth the investment. Solid and smooth on every shift.
