Mustang Owners....
The average mild tune, air intake, downpipe cobalt will have it's hands full against a stock 2011-2012 5.0 mustangs from a roll. My cobalt was full bolt-on's, meth, and running 27-30psi for awhile and I think it would be faster than my 2012 gt from a 40-100mph hit even with the cobalt spinning. From what i've experienced against my brothers 2011 6a 5.0 is he pulls away very hard after 100mph where my stock turbo ran out of steam.
The 5.0 is a very easy car to drive compared to my cobalt. I can slip the clutch from 3500rpm and it spins for 5ft and hooks LOL. I have not ran it at the track yet but i'm expecting 12.7-12.8s at 111-112mph.
My brothers 6a pulled off a 12.51 at 113.7 in some nice November air with being 100% showroom stock. With a tune and air filter in 80 degree weather it went 12.41 at 114.9. Weld RT's rims, MT drag radials, off road h-pipe, and a magnaflow catback it went 11.77 at 119 in cool weather. He then added a Vortech SI blower at 9psi and it thumped down 594whp on a mustang dyno with only 13 degrees of timing. With an additional 4 degrees of timing on the 100 octane tune I can see it running 10.3-10.4 at 134-135mph. It's REALLY quick...it's feels stronger than my fox which has only trapped 130.

True story, no joke.
My bosses bone stock 6a '12 5.0 on 3:31's started creepin' back up after 100MPH (from a dig) but was still 2 and a half-ish cars behind me when we stopped @ 120 (24PSI tune, all of the ZZP bolt-ons and some shitty supreme street tires). HE also said he started gaining on me after 100MPH on our 40-120 roll, but he was so far back at that point I couldn't tell, lol.
BUT, I flat out could not keep up with the '12 5.0 6-speed manual on 3:73's from a dig to 120, 2 cars behind by the time we shut down, after 100MPH I felt I was BARELY gaining on him but it coulda been in my head. By the time we shut down my gain was basically nothing, had we gone any further he would have pulled away from me even further.
I think I could have been to his rear bumper by the time we shut down @ 120 if I was on slicks or some serious business drag radials...but no where close on my ****-tastic street tires.
Time for a turbo swap, clutch upgrade and some better freggin' tires!
Again, its not the car, its the cocky owner thats the problem. Sounds like a good friend...
The fact a 2.0L 4cyl can hang with a new 2012 5.0 Mustang is a compliment. Who cares. The new 5.0 Mustang is a great car. Think of how the si driver must feel right now... Hahaha.

Psh, he wished the 5.0 would run circles aroudn the zl1. The new 2013gt500 will rape the zl1 thought.
Not even the boss 302 with more power and better suspension than a 5.0GT could do better than the ZL1

id like for chevy to do a z28 in the vein of the boss. high revving engine in a lightweight car. priced between the ss and the zl1.

Believe it or not the boss intake isnt as great as people are making it out to be. The only gains from it are when people rev it past the stock rev limiter with a tune. There is plenty of used boss intake for sale because the cars are actually slower in the 1/4 due to the loss of 15wtq and 10whp throughout the whole curve until 6500+rpm.
The only time I could see the boss intake working well on a GT is if it's equipped with 3.73s-4.10s and is launched hard with never seeing low rpm.

And what doesn't help the situation is the Honda crowd is just as ignorant as ever when it comes to non Honda cars. 90% I talk to still think the LNF is a horrible engine and slower than a stock Si. Then they lose, break off from the pack and pretend something broke on their car, or it wasn't running right... Haha.
A tuned Balt can take a stock 5.0 with just NLS.. my buddy ran one locally and everytime the Mustang shifted, he fell back a bit. It was close though. I've driven a 5.0(with 3.73's).. loved it, but it felt slower than my car so I wasn't thoroughly impressed. If somebody would let me drive a Boss or a Roush, or the 2013 Shelby.. I just MIGHT.. switch sides haha. I love the new 'Stangs, but this guy's a chump. He's going to try and rape you with his brand new 5.0 and he's going to get embarrassed. Then what? He's going to go buy a supercharger? lol Idiots will be idiots.. you should bolt-on an EFR and like totally rape his modded 5.0 :P
