My new 09 SS... yay
Got 09 SS couple of weeks ago or so with 30k miles.
The story is. I had a 06 350z. I loved that car but I live in VT and had to buy a winter beater every winter so I got tired of losing money and wanted something fun that I can drive all year.
I had my mind set on a GTI, SI, Speed3, the SS, WRX or Ralliart. The GTI is way, way too common and slow when stock, the new 2012 SI looked somewhat promising on paper but didn't read all that good things about it. The WRX is like a fetish in VT every ass has one. Didn't think I will find a SS since I remember seeing like one around the last couple of years. Ralliart is almost impossible to find used. Speed 3 I liked and I test drove one but no MazdaSpeed dealer near me (closest one is 3.5hrs drive so if something happened and I needed warranty service i was fracked).
So, I'm driving my Z past a KIA dealership and I spot the SS. It was pretty late so I just drove in to make sure it was an SS. Did a lot of reading that night, mostly on this forum. Went next morning at 8:30 and by 12 I drove it away. I think what made my mind was the GMS1 upgrade and that you get to keep the warranty...never heard of manufacturer doing that.
Today I got the GMS1 installed along with a new Headlights. Drove it around a bit and still can't wipe the smirk off my face.
I took the Z couple of times to NHMS and did the track days with an instructor and it was soooooo much fun. Can't wait to take the SS next April.

I'm not sorry about it or looking back. The SS might not turn as many heads but I like it alot. The thing ith the Z is that everybody thought it cost much more than it actually did and I also use to tell chicks the Z cost 55k I don't think I can pul that with the SS

Black - sweet. The only way it'd be sweeter is if it were a black TC sedan.....
I bought mine as a dd/"beater"; it has since been set aside and not driven in the winter! I can't seem to bring myself to introduce my black car to any road salt!

DOH if it was a sedan I wouldn't have bought it. Oh, it will see plenty of winter, I'm getting it steel wheels with winters and it will have to drive me up and down the mountain for skiing about 30-35 times.
