Just wanted to get a feel for what kind of tires you guys run on your Cobalts.
I prefer going as cheap as possible without ruining the drive-ability of the car. I'm more likely than not going to order from tirerack.com and just have them mounted and balanced to the wheels, then install them myself. Save a bit of cash that way.
Again, I can't stress enough that I want to go with the CHEAPEST tires possible! I'm still on stock wheels and I plan on keeping it that way. Anybody with info, please chime in!
BTW, fwiw, I have an '09 SS/TC. I know the tire sizes didn't change between the range of SS' from '08-'10, but just wanted to add that info in case anyone thinks it matters.

Oh, one more thing:
I would like to go with All-Season tires. I live in SoCal, which means summer tires can be ran all year long, but there are times when I travel to snowy locations, such as Big Bear, or head down to Arizona, where the weather can be unpredictable.
Just being informative here. Hehehe

I really like the Nitto 555's ....... hard to beat for the price. If you stay 225's they are like 135 a tire . Performance wise I think they hook better than a Conti and are right with the stockers in handling .

Im looking at at the pirellie P zero nero all seasons...not as much tread wear as the DWS that i was gonna previously purchase but pretty sticky for all seasons and decent wear life and they are cheaper than the conti's

I ordered them from Discount tire direct ..... they are $134 bucks a piece with free shipping so it's one of the better deals out there. I really like the tire , they seem to hold the power down in 2nd a lot better than my stock Conti's ever did.
The Conti's always felt like an excellent cornering tire to me ......It's hard for me to tell the difference between them in a corner ....... the 555's seem every bit as good I'm sure some of the Auto cross or road course guys would be able to tell the difference but I can't . IMHO it's a kick ass tire for close to half of what a sport contact 2 costs .

I know you're talking about AS tires, but I went the Hankook Ventus V12 route, and after about 4K miles, I'm starting to regret it. They slide around like they have grease on them all of a sudden.

Do they last a decent amount of time under conservative driving?

I got Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the fronts, they are more expensive but they do have a 50,000 kms wear warranty on them unless you do burnouts on them and they can tell if you have. They grip extremely well, I can't come close to spinning them on GMS1+K&N Typhoon unless I launch from 2500+ on the street.
