It's good to be back. I have been creeping on various Cobalt groups on Facebook and man that is a clown show and a half x-D.
I'm sure none of you are strangers to browsing longingly at cars listed online. I'm happy to say I finally pulled the trigger on one. I had the three volumes of the service manuals sitting there, calling out to me, telling me I had to buy another. :-) I flew out in October to Iowa and drove this sub-160,000mi example of an 09 LNF.
I have replaced some rusty fuel lines, and the car is now sitting on Powell YYZ springs mounted on the FE5 shocks, courtesy of Crate Engine Depot. The end links were replaced with the same model of greaseable Moog ones that served me well on my previous LNF. There was quite a bit of rust and the old links had to be cut. The bolts for the rear shocks were... "crunchy" and I couldn't get them off myself unfortunately. So now I have some shocks and front shock assemblies that I will probably be looking to sell.
I also replaced the infamously fragile part of the intake that connects the PCV valve with one from ZZP. I knew it was on borrowed time because it was bonded probably by the used car dealer that pointed it out to me.
My goal is to go to NJMP to start learning the track, and eventually a moderate tune once some other basic maintenance is addressed. I'm sure at 160,000mi, other things will need to be addressed.

Welcome to the group. Very nice SS Sedan. Still looks in great condition. If you are doing some tracking with your car I would add Powell lower control arm bushings, Powell rear sway bar, and Bilstein rear shocks over the oem t/c fe5 rear shocks.
Welcome! Yes the Facebook group is special lol. Nice LNF sedan. 4 doors mean only one thing to us old school guys. Car looks clean! This is the place for any knowledge. It’s a little slow on response sometimes, but you won’t find a better group of current members to help you.

Thank you, duly noted. I was looking into doing the Bilsteins once I start putting down some serious wet-sump, oil-starving lateral Gs haha. I've been to the poorly maintained Raceway Park road course around 2010 a few times and I was pretty happy with the stock suspension. I'm looking forward to pushing the chassis to its limit on the new springs. For now, I just have to learn the actual NJMP track. It's much larger than the Raceway Park road course.
Welcome. Nice sedan! Love them, but I might be bias... as I have one too. Also Monmouth County, where at? I have family in Port Monmouth/Belford, and grandmother used to live in Leonardo.

I live near Keyport, NJ. I used to teach for Middletown Driving School, so I'm pretty familiar with the back roads of Northern Monmouth County. I'm glad there are some decent ones. :-)
