New 2010 Cobalt SS owner

Hey everyone I'm a proud owner of a new Black 2010 SS.I have to be very honest and say what a sleeper this car really is.It sure doesn't feel stock, some people were saying that gm installed their left over tune kits in the last model year, rumor?.One thing I noticed is that without revving it on take off my wheels completely spin and get loose in 2nd gear.I can understand why you are all proud of your cars, great handling and great accelleration.Alot of people put these cars down,I drive many different cars because of my job,I have driven everything from Nsx's to Shelby Gt 500's.These cars are as much fun as 100 thousand dollar rides, maybe not the nostalgia but just as much *****.Glad to have one, Chris.

Mine finally came in. GM is shooting some of the accessories in the car. Mine came with the stage 1 that I have to have installed, GMPP exhaust, and SS hood liner. Just stock it's not a bad car. I bought it for my son since he starts driving at the end of the month. I hope he respects it. We went shopping original for a normal Cobalt, Civic, etc. Not with the huge discount on them just couldn't pass it up. MSRP in Canada is $29,500 and it has a $5500.00 rebate and I got an additional $1200.00 off. Hard car to beat for $22g.

No offence, Accordio, but I don't know if I would have bought this car for my 16 yr old son. An over-abundance of testosterone and a torquey FWD car are a bad mix.

He'll be fine. He races shifter kart and has been into motorcross and atv since around 5 years old. It's all how you respect it. I'll be keeping an eye out and he knows it.

Congrats Chris! Just got my Black SS two weeks ago - Love It! I've noticed lots of people here Upgrade the performance.. I'm surprised.. but.. I guess that's what I get for living a sheltered life. I would imagine the upgrades just make a great car that much better..

One thing I know for sure though... is that the car is impressive right out the door... which is why the stock car you now own - already feels like there is no way it can be stock

I've posted a bunch of quotes on my limited time here.. and this one sums it up best for me!

"The Cobalt SS may be the most underrated car in the world. We're about to set it free of that title."

I was under the impression also. So they went and checked and they said it'll fit. It'll be going on in a couple days so I'll let everyone know.

Make sure you team up with Geoff (gdubs) on here and check out your local cobalt club; you guys have a real nice group up there! If you're interested in getting it tuned or have any questions feel free to get ahold of me either through pm or phone. Congrats and have fun with your new toy

You know with relocating the MAF you just screwed up your fuel trims. You would need tuned for moving it. There are many companies that make intakes for these cars. All requiring tuning.
