New and a bunch of questions

Hello. I have been following the site for a while, and just joined today. I should be getting a new car pretty soonish, and the 08-09 cobalt ss/tc has had my eye. But i had a few questions...

1. I know the earlier model cobalt ss\sc has upgradeable stages 2, 3. So how does the 08-09 ss/tc compare? better, worse, slower, faster?

2. I was also looking at the 08 Pontiac g6 gt. How does that compare to the 08-09 Cobalt ss/tc?

Thanks for all your input, many more questions to come.

There will be staged kits. Currently a stock turbo SS will put down more hp and way more tq at the wheels than a Stage 2 supercharged SS model.

Depends on what you want, but this will flat out rape a G6 GT in every possible performance test.

I own a G6 GTP Coupe (3.9 liter, 240hp/240tq)

The girlfriend and I took the new T/C on a test drive. A couple times I heard her mumble under her breath "oh shiiiit"

This car is about a second faster through the 1/4 mile than my G6 GTP, and I will eat G6 GT's all day long.

Also, the story doesn't stop there. The T/C handling is heads, shoulders, knees AND toes above my GTP coupe (with "sport tuned suspension") Also, the G6 has under-sized brakes, and can warp rotors at will. The G6, however, is going to be a helluva lot more roomy inside, and you can actually fit a golf bag in the trunk of it without folding down the seats.

Ok well i think i made my mind up then im going to get the cobalt

MapOfTaziFoSho you said there will be staged kits, are you saying for the turbo?

Thanks for your input guys, it helped me make up my mind.

Another quick question, this might have been touched on already but i havent come across it. But how does the 08-09 ss\tc stand up to top competitors? Like nissan 350z, wrx sti, lancer evo, and others?

Technically, those cars are all in another class. The STi and EVO are nearly double the price.

Our closer competition is the Civic Si, Mazdaspeed3, and VW GTI.

The only one even close of those is the MS3.
