New Focus ST

Um Mitsubishi ecplise ring a bell? I know why everyone compares them, but just saying even chevy doesn't have **** for a ecobox racer. You guys care way to much about street racing.......and who can go faster, when it really is, do you enjoy what you bought? I would rather own a ms3 than the ss for comfort features, I know the ss could be faster. Who cares. If you care about winning a street race any car can be modded to all hell and beat anything. I'd even consider trading the ss for a new sho or the abarth. Daily driving the ss is brutal with the mods on...ugh

The reason everyone compairs the new cars to those is because those were great cars of their time and cars are supposed to be get better as the years go on. Sure the ST has approximately the same power as a SS/TC but its 5 years late and not even as fast, so in my eyes its less impressive.

The f40 and xj both have almost the same stats of 3.7 0-60 7.8 0-100 and 1/4 11.7. There's a few cars out there that are quite a bit faster now.

There are faster cars but it doesn't mean they are fun to drive. Most gtr reviews complain about how everything is computer controlled. Sure makes impressive numbers but a retarded monkey could get similar numbers as a pro driver.

Some people care about being faster than others. There isn't a car that does it all for the price range your looking at so this is why people either go for comfort or performance. To find a car that really has performance, class, comfort, and reliability you have to man up and go at least 60k on a car. The mazdaspeed 3 wasn't really the best at anything, the ss was faster, the gti was a lot nicer, and the wrx was more practical. It had the best blend of everything I guess you could say but still a cheap plastic econobox like the others. I don't know anything about the Abarth so I can't comment on it other than It looks cool but is tiny.

I dont know if this has been mentioned, I haven't been on here too often lately.
Ford is doing a Nation wide tour to debut the new Focus ST. Theyre offering a free performance driving course.
I just signed up for July 21st, theyre coming to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. I figured it might be a pretty good comparison to the SS/TC. 2.0L ECOBOOST making 252hp/270hp, with the benefit of a 6spd which I wish our cars had.
Heres the info if anyones interested... can't beat thrashing on a new car for free!

Just did the training course laps... Won't be able to push it till I get to the Tim attack side... They won't let you go past 2nd which tops at 60 but the course not made for that speed

Yeah, I just got back from there today. Glad I went to the earliest time available since it was freakin' hot out there!
It's a nice car, love the interior, nice Recaros too. Stock for stock tho, the Cobalt handles better and has waay more torque down low where it's needed and felt. The Cobalt's still a very good bang for the buck considering it's a few years old now. The LNF 2.0 lives on in some newer platforms from Cadillac & Buick, yay! But not Chevrolet, wtf?
I think the price point of around 25k will help sell this vehicle. I'm still gonna keep my old '09 SS...

Ford Focus ST driven full road test car review - BBC Top Gear - BBC Top Gear
the new Focus ST is astonishing. Sublime. Minty-fresh magnificent. It's the sort of car you can drive 20 hours a day for a week (really), and still want to jump back into for a thrash around the block.
