Canada new to here

hey every one i just got myself a 09 cobalt ss. I downsized from a 06 chrysler 300 srt8 ( it was way too expensive lol) and im hoping to be getting about 400 whp out of my SS. I am thinking about using Hahn racecraft to do it cause i like the prices and the look ( my car is black with red accents). Is there another brand that i can use that will do it better?

I've heard of issues with the Hahn charge piping rusting.

Zzp and Ottp are also very good companies to buy from

FBO/ZFR and a tune will get you there no problem. Then you just have to worry about putting that power down

easy 400 whp would be
- hptuners + tuner
- ZZP ZFR 6758 or 7163
- catless down pipe
- intake
-3 bar map sensors
you could always throw a 3inch stainless catback on too but not needed for 400whp.

also before you start modding it would be wise to check how healthy your engine is

For now id say intake, downpipe, and a tune. Its a good start and will get you in the low to mid 300s. Then you can swap turbos later. Upper charge pipe would be wise as well

Agreed. Also coming from a big car 300hp in a two door cobalt is going to feel faster then you think. My dad has a charger

Zzp performance has everything ull need.

Do charge pipe and intercooler, catless downpipe, get rid of the rear o2 on that while u at it, codes will have to be deleted in the tune, get hp tuners, zfr turbo upgrade and k&n intake, also 3 bar maps. U will be over 400 with a good tune .

A belated welcome here!

there is a good group in Winnipeg that you could meet up with - I have even met up with them on occasion, as my dad's side of the family is all in Winnipeg.

My preferred suppliers go like this:
1) Modern Performance; IMHO they sell the best intercooler, and exhaust
2) ZZP; they sell many unique items
3) Hahn; I only like them for their charge pipes and matching intake

I wouldn't buy too much from Hahn if I were you because aside from the two parts I like of theirs, I have heard of probelms with fitment & quality control - and that doesn't even scrape the surface on the problems I have personally had in getting quotes/emails from them.

As long as you take it easy on your transmission, and have a tuner that has a good ramp, and limits boost in fifth, you should be fine.

Oh yeah haha.

They offered me a position back in January. I will say I'm extremely fortunate. But now I can give back and help the community on the ecotec platform.

thank you for all your opinions, i'll look into getting the ZZP performance. It seems like everyone likes it. I have to say i have no idea what i'm doing because i never modded a car before so this is going to be exiting for me. I just wish i had all the money to do it now

Just take your time, don't cut corners/do it right the first time, and learn as much as you can. If you'd like, you can contact me and we can chat over what your goals are and set up a modding plan while keeping your goal in mind!
