First quarter 2009 LNF's had trouble with Pourous block issues. As long as the car isn't all modded out the dealers have been covering it under warranty.

Stock block is rated for near 700hp. Clutch is rated to about 350ft/lbs. Transmission is rated to about 400-420.

Stock pistons and rods are good to about 400whp+ as long as you aren't pushing the stock turbo out of it's efficiency range and building too much heat (ie going big turbo or meth injection instead of trying to squeak 30psi from the k04).

Welcome aboard, there's a lot of information to be found using the search function this site has to generously graced us with.

Around 20K miles, coolant starts to disappear. The blocks are cast in styrofoam and some blocks end up being porous, so the coolant leaks through the water jackets in to the oil galley.

For some reason, with the early 2009 LNF's, there was an issue with air getting trapped in the aluminum during the casting process, causing the block to have imperfections.

A few guys on the boards have had this issue, mysteriously losing coolant, engine running strangely. They had to fight with the dealer, but eventually had a brand new engine dropped in at GM's expense.

That would push you far beyond 305hp, idk about the torque though, I believe a member on her e ran a 12.9 with an intake and an e85 tune, cant remember his name, was a sedan though

Cobalts love e85 and catless downpipes

Right now my LNF sits stock intake/exhaust except an open downpipe and on e85 (20psi & 26* up top). Made 314/388 SAE corrected a couple weeks ago on a dynojet..

Would probably be very very close.

Since then, I've retuned with boost at 23psi and 28* up top. Car is pretty unweildy.

On a completely different note, the stock high pressure fuel pump really can't keep up with e85 tunes.

The car's run amazing on the stuff, but go lean up top. Hopefully ZZP will be releasing their new pump shortly.

I've been tuning the LNF for about 9 months now and have a pretty good grasp on what all is going on.

Hp Tuners doesn't have a ton of tables available, so it makes it a great car to learn how to tune on.

The E69 PCM is completely torque based, so it's a bit different of a tuning style, but if one has any sort of a clue, it's pretty easy to grasp and make work.

Last March I paid 13,500 and traded in my 2002 grand am gt for my 09 coupe with 9400 miles on it. Going rate for a low milage used tc seems to be about 16,000 but I'm sure you could find a better deal somewhere.

All the years are good years. Just make sure it has the G85/LSD package.

RPD is always cool too.

Iam_Broke, one of the more knowledgable tuners around on the forums had something like 68k on his lnf. Tuned for a good part of it I'm sure.

He had some issues with a misfiring cylinder, which I think he narrowed down to a failed injector or a coilpack, can't remember.

I've put almost 20k (26,400mi now) on the car in the year I've owned it (about 5-8 of it tuned) without (knock on wood) a single problem minus the normal rear brake problem which was replaced under warranty. I baby the car most of the time though.

2010 Cobalt SS Turbo

That's a good example of what a nice TC is going to go for.

I believe that was drewbroo with the sedan... thats in AZ also so it's not at sea level.

My car on E85/91 octane mix runs lean right in the middle of the torque range from about 3500 to 5500 rpm. It is a beastly car on E85 though... I would say that HP tuners is the only way to go at this point, if you are going to be modding it alot. Trifecta is pretty effective with the intake/downpipe tuning for that.

A full bolt on LNF on E47-E60 should make about 350whp and 400wtq on a good tune

It was a bad o-ring on the injector of his #3 cylinder.
