just for the record, if the ss/tc wasnt being sold in canada you cannot import it. to import a vehicle it needs to be 15 years old or must be a model sold in canada and brought up to canadian safety standards. basicly you could bring up a brand new cobalt as long as its not a turbo balt. thisis why we have no evos up here, they sell lancers up here but not a lancer evo, so you cant import them. however because of the ruling, all the bmw/mercedies guys easily get to import whatever the hell they want cause they are all sold in canada, just for a huge amount more in very low numbers.
but being thats not the case and the ss/tc will be sold up here we dont need to worry.

that's a bit misleading. people import new cars from the us all the time. the reason the evo isn't legal in canada is because of the bumper. cobalt TCs aren't like that, and they do satisfy all safety regs.
GM dealers are not allowed to sell to Canadians by contract with GM USA. They can loose their franchise. They have been warned by memo.
A car must be licenced for at least 6 months or have 20,000 miles on it and qualify for the Canadian standards.

I'm sure there are other loopholes that can be taken advantage of. This is the criteria that dealers in Canada are working with to ensure legality and their responsibility to GM. It's likely that you can bring in a car that doesn't fit this criteria. You'll likely not get the help from a GM dealer in the US and you may have trouble with warranty claims once you get it here. It also helps with the fees as you cross the border too.
I will look for the link with all the gov. requirements.

I reread my earlier post. I am sorry that I wasn't more specific. I must have been disracted.

yep, 24,995... and there's a no charge promotion for the sunroof
and with the 1250$ in cashback on all the cobalts, it shouldn't be more expensive than the SS Supercharged.... in theory...
I'm paying 362/month right now (without the coverage, 382 with it) and bought the car for 25 250$ last march... shouldn't be more exepensive, even less.. but again.. in theory, lol
