Are the noises I'm experiencing normal?
So I have a beautiful victory red SS/TC. I love it and I wanna keep up on maintenance and fix problems before they get worse. So I have been noticing some noises that I never noticed before. Granted I probably wasn't as observant as I could have been when I first got the car but still.
1) At low speeds I hear rattling in the front of my car like my suspension is loose. Only intermittent and its hard to duplicate. It sounds as if a piece of plastic is bouncing around. Its very hard to describe.
2) In cold weather or cold start when I lightly brake I hear a low deep "whoa" if you will coming from the rear of my car. I'm assumlaing its brake related. So think Joey Lawrence's "whoa" but way slower and way deeper
3) When I come to a complete stop and hold my brakes in at a red light or something every once and awhile I'll hear popping noises coming from the back of my car. Almost as if someone is tapping the back of my car.
4) Clunking noise as I shift. Like my tranny if engaging too hard.
5) Not really a noise but my passenger window rolls up slowly. Called dealership and they said its because I don't use it as much. I think the motor is dying slowly. What do you think?
Well that's it. I appreciate the help

1. Check that the fan shroud & fans are attached to the radiator support, sometimes they unclip and lean back towards the engine. Could be steering intermediate shaft rattle also.
2.Normal cold pads/rotors
3. Purge canister...Normal.
4. F35's are noisy. Normal. Mine's worse with OTTP Stage 2 mounts, more noise transmitted to the sub frame.
5. It should go up as fast as the drivers side, but they may make matters worse messing with the track & window.

my window is almost as quick but not quite... my tranny is noisey too... although it got quieter when i had my new motor installed... from what i understand the purge canister is used to measure the flow and amount of fuel vapors being recycled into the combustion process. it making noises is normal sometimes. brakes are hit and miss.. mine squeeked but never groaned. rattling could be anything... it's a cobalt lol

So if there's a bulletin about the intermediate shaft rattling can it be fixed permanently or is just a temporary fix that they know of until warranty expires then I'm on my own.
Is it just annoyance or is there damage to be done where my car will no longer work

Search the forum for sources of rattles. There are a lot of threads on this. Another one to keep in mind is the seat belts. The little plastic covers can rattle against the trim. One more is the plastic covers on the rear window defroster. There's one on each side. They just snap on to cover the elements. Mine were both very loose and rattled so I removed them. I may put them back on and figure out how to make them tighter, but at least they don't rattle anymore.
Bottom line is there's a lot of plastic on this car which tends to rattle.

the passenger window should only roll up slower when both windows are being rolled up at the same time. Try rolling them up seperately and seeing, the drivers side gets first dibs on power when multiple windows are being opened, including the sunroof if you have one.

both cobalts I've owned and my grand prix, and most of my parents cars, all of which are GM cars, have slower passenger windows than driver windows. I've just gotten used to it. You should see my GP's rear windows, the sunroof is faster.
I don't get #1,2,or 3 noises. My car is pretty quiet for the most part. My tranny is pretty loud too.

I own a brand new 2010 cobalt tc and I also noticed the clunky shifts. It just doesn't feel right. Also brakes squeal super loud aswell. Heard the slider pins need lubbed. I'd suggest if you're close to changing your pads go with hawk HPS. I ran them on my supercharged sunfire with brembo rotors and LOVED them.

Deffintely lube and use a BFH on the rear calipers, specifically on the brake pistons themselves just beat the **** out of em once you start to get them rotated and lube the hell out of the slide pins.
On a side not turn your radio up louder or this car will drive you crazy with rattles and odd sounds. They put a decent stereo in for a reason

In my 2010 SS my passenger window also rolls up slow, clunky shift, weird knocking on rear window when stopped, loud squeal sometimes from brakes but not always.
Also have dog bark because of K&N intake

I have no more warranty now.
Each time noise back in 3 months.
